
Dexter, Missouri - It's always a bitter-sweet evening when the seniors are honored at Dexter High School. It's their last home meet, the last time they will wrestling on the home mats.
The wrestling team honored three seniors, Dalton Green, Cory Holland, and Jakob Sauvage. (Each athlete will have their own article).
Dalton Green is the son of Scott Green and Marsha Eubanks.
He participated in cross country his senior year and has participated in wrestling both his junior and senior years.
Dalton's future plans are to attend Three Rivers College or protect our freedom as a member of the United State Army.

Bloomfield, Missouri - The Bloomfield School Board Members met on Monday, February 13, 2017.
The Board, principals, and superintendent met early in the FACS room and were treated to dinner by their Pro-Start students: Madera Battles, Dakota Holmes, and Megan Slaughter. The food was delicious! These students travel to Springfield on Thursday for their state competition.
The board approved Young's Lawn Care for the District's lawn services for the next 3 years. The school received 12 bids.
The board approved Calendar Option B. The staff vote was Calendar A - 12 and Calendar B - 49. (The School Calendar will be posted in a separate article on the ShowMe Times).
The board approved $100 donation to Project Prom and to allow them to use school buses.
In executive session,
Jansen Williams was approved to be placed on the District's sub list pending all paperwork and background check.
The board also accepted the resignation of Taylor Fields for the end of the school year.
The board hired Amy Battles for HS Social Studies for the remainder of the 16-17 school year.
The board hired Taylor Williams as special ed aide for the remainder of the 16-17 school year.
The board hired Brent Shipman for HS English for the 17-18 school year.
The board approved Matt Kohm for MS Baseball Coach, Michael Chasteen for MS Baseball Assistant Coach, and Amy Battles for HS History Day Sponsor all for the 16-17 school year.
The board also extended the contracts of the Elementary and MS principals, Mrs. Sabrina Skaggs and Mr. Louis Bell through the 18-19 school year.
The board also rehired and offered a contract to HS principal, Jason Karnes, through the 18-19 school year.

Dexter, Missouri - The annual Jr. Beta Winter Dance will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The 2017 Mr. DMS will also be crowned during the dance.
Eighth grade boys are nominated by 8th grade teachers. Students and staff will support their candidate via a $1.00 donation/vote placed in a box at the main office of T.S. Hill Middle School.

Western National is pleased to announce the release of the Application for our 2017 Western National Insurance Scholarship program.
Western National agency partners whose sons and daughters meet the eligibility requirements outlined below are encouraged to have them apply for one of our $3,000 scholarship awards.
To be fair to all applicants, we require that all applications are submitted online no later than April 14, 2017.
Eligibility for Sons and Daughters of Agency Partners
Must be the legal child/step-child of a current* Western National Insurance Group** partner producer, account executive/CSR, or other agency employee. For the child to qualify, the parent working in the agency should be a permanent employee averaging a minimum of 25 hours of work per week.
Must not have received the Western National Insurance Scholarship more than once before. (Applicants can receive the scholarship a maximum of two times.)
Must fit one of the following enrollment profiles:
Current high school senior who will enroll full-time*** in an undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college or university beginning in Fall 2017.
Current or prospective undergraduate student who is beginning or continuing full-time*** enrollment at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in Fall 2017, and who is age 24 or younger as of September 1, 2017.
Must provide a complete application; incomplete applications will not be considered.
* current as of both the application date and the award date
** includes Umialik Insurance Company, Western National Mutual Insurance Company, and Western National Assurance Company
*** full-time as defined by the college or university
