Essex, Missouri – On Saturday, March 22nd, the Richland Project Prom Committee will be hosting the Alumni Basketball Game in the Richland High School Gymnasium. If you would like to participate, there are registration forms available in the High School Office and at Essex One Stop off of Highway 114 in Essex.

The registration fee is $10 per player. The money raised will go to help Project Prom come to life this year on Saturday, May 3rd. The students are working towards narrowing down their many different options for after prom and the dance, such as: renting out the YMCA in Sikeston with activities such as swimming and sports, having a lock-in at the school with fun games and prizes, or having a catered dinner before the dance as they have done in previous years.

With the many ideas the Project Prom Committee has thrown together, they have had other fundraisers to help them reach their goal before May such as the tutu fundraisers at the beginning of the year, the wreath making fundraiser, the raffle at the Fall Festival, and the Prom Dress Exchange held last weekend in Bloomfield. The Alumni Basketball Game will continue to help them take the steps towards reaching their goal.

The registration deadline is Friday, March 14th (this may be extended at a later date due to the weather and the school being closed). If you wish to participate, you will need to turn in your payment with your completed registration form by that date. All former Richland basketball players are encouraged to participate! It will be a fun event for everyone, whether you are on the court or in the stands.

The Project Prom Committee and the junior class will also be opening the concession stand for this event with food such as hotdogs, nachos, soft pretzels, sodas, candy, and more. On top of the concession stand, they will also be holding a bake sale. So be sure to stop by! All proceeds from the concession stand, bake sale, and basketball game will go to Project Prom.

The Alumni Basketball Game will definitely be a game to remember, so mark your calendars for Saturday, March 22nd. Students and families are encouraged to attend; it will be fun for the whole family. More information will be available as the date gets closer.

If there are any questions, contact the Project Prom Committee at 573-421-5228.
