Dexter, Missouri – The DHS auditorium was rockin’ Monday, May 6th as the annual POP CONCERT was held.  “It was incredible,” stated Jamie Sepulvado, Choral Director for Dexter Public Schools.

All four choirs were featured singing songs like, “That’s What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction, “Blackbird” by Paul McCartney and many other popular songs.  It was quite an incredible evening.

The talent involved blew everyone away with acts featuring Logan Quertermous Sarah Richardson, Stephanie Gee, Ashley and Emily Long, Matney Davis, Sam Ward, Jordan Dodson, Noah Kronk, Lauren Thrower, Jon Rodgers, Andrew Moore, Trevor Jines, Zachary Kester, Noah Raines, Brooks Propst, Drew Mason, Kyle Steams, Reale Cook, Shelby Gathings, and Miranda Rogers.

Mrs. Sepulvado also presented awards to the seniors.  During the slidshow there was a special performance.  Mrs. Sepulvado and Mr. Darren Propst sang together.  It was a great night filled with fantastic music.

The audience was awesome and after the seniors received their awards and the last song of the evening was sung, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house by those parents.  The last concert for the 2013 seniors and what an extraordinary event it was.

Thank you Mrs. Sepulvado for all that you do and for the entertainment you provide the public each and every year.

Dexter, Missouri -  Each year students all over Missouri compete by sending in a recording of their voices.  Mrs. Jamie Sepulvado was asked to send in recordings of the student's voices on an Art Song of their choice and other material.  Only 200 students from the entire state of Missouri are chosen and this year 10 seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students were selected from TS Hill Middle School and the Dexter High School.

This is only the second year that students from Dexter have auditioned and last year seven students were accepted into one of Missouri's top choirs.

The Missouri Choral Directors Association Honors Choir is made of exceptional choir students and they will travel to Jefferson City, Missouri on July 23rd to rehearse for their July 24th performance.

This is a great opportunity for students and a true honor to be selected.  "It is my hope that this event will continue to grow and each year more and more students will audition," stated Mrs. Jamie Sepulvado, Choral Director for Dexter Public Schools.  "I couldn't be more proud as a choir teacher to see this growth and guide these students down a successful path with their music."

Students selected from the 7th and 8th grade are Andrew Teel, Tres Hampton, Tanner Rickman, Caroline Powers, Sarah Miller, Angel Maze, and Shelby Smith.

Students selected from the 9th grade are Brooks Propst, Shelby Gathings, and Jon Rodgers.
