Dexter, Missouri - Dexter Senior High School is really getting into the Christmas spirit with their many activities during Spirit Week!  Thursday is wear Grandma's Sweater or "ugly" Sweater Day. 

The Dexter High School halls were filled with holiday cheer as the students and faculty wore their Grandma's Christmas sweaters and sweatshirts.  Beautifully colored with Christmas trees, red ribbons, ornaments, Santas and snowmen.  Students enjoyed

Mrs. Tammy Crowley and Rhonda Lowery also participated with their holiday sweaters.  They almost looked liked twins, but that was Tuesday! 

Rebecca Reeves, Krysta Winstead and Sophie Lebel were fully clad in their "Grandma's Sweaters".  How festive each of them looked. Brittney Twomey, Kelsey Frederick, and Paige Fitzpatrick showed off their "Grandma's Sweaters".  They all looked so very sweet in their Christmas attire.

It is almost Friday and that means the last day of the semester and Christmas Break is finally here!  Students are hoping for a white Christmas this year.  Dexter High School will continue Spirit Week one more day by wearing Christmas colors - RED and GREEN.  Good luck to all those who have finals and tests this week, the pep rally 7th hour can't get here soon enough.

Dexter, Missouri - Excitement was in the air as the 7^th grade choir at Dexter T.S. Middle School took the stage.  They sang a medley of Christmas songs as well as “Believe’ from the movie “Polar Express.  The 7^th grade boys did a rap number called “Santa Is The Man”.  How cute it was to see those youngsters singing at the top of their lungs.

The 8^th grade choir made up of 120 students stood on the risers next.  They wowed everyone with their beautiful choral sound.   The 8^th grade boys sang the famous song “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” with two students portraying the Grinch and his little dog.  It was so much fun for the audience as there were many cheers!

The Honors Choir performed a medley of Christmas songs with many students singing solos.  There was a lot of talent on stage for this Christmas concert. 

The students and choir director had two little surprises for the audience at the end of the performance.  First, the 8^th grade girls worked on a very unique performance of “Where are You Christmas?”  Then half of the girls were dressed as angels and the other half were dressed in sweatshirts and sweatpants.  They made their own rap song about Christmas and the girls challenged each other during the performance.  What a fun and unique concert it was as the audience clapped and cheered loudly.

Jamie Sepulvado, Choral Director, told the students, “This was one of my top five favorite concerts in my twelve years as a teacher.” 

The students had a blast performing and the audience loved the concert.  The Jr. High Choir Festival will be there next performance.  It is held in Dexter on February 12, 2013 and many choir groups from the area will also be there to sing for each other.  Should be a great night of musical talent.

With Christmas just right around the corner, many elementary classrooms have started holiday activities to help show their excitement for Christmas break!

The students in Mrs. Putnam’s first grade class showed their enthusiasm for the holidays as they spent yesterday doing fun filled gingerbread activities.

“The Gingerbread Girl Goes Animal Crackers” inspired the activities.

The students had a fun filled day yesterday, and we’re sure they’re excited about Christmas break beginning Friday!
