Dexter, Missouri - Excitement was in the air as the 7th grade choir at Dexter T.S. Middle School took the stage.  They sang a medley of Christmas songs as well as “Believe’ from the movie “Polar Express.  The 7th grade boys did a rap number called “Santa Is The Man”.  How cute it was to see those youngsters singing at the top of their lungs.

The 8th grade choir made up of 120 students stood on the risers next.  They wowed everyone with their beautiful choral sound.   The 8th grade boys sang the famous song “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” with two students portraying the Grinch and his little dog.  It was so much fun for the audience as there were many cheers!

The Honors Choir performed a medley of Christmas songs with many students singing solos.  There was a lot of talent on stage for this Christmas concert.

The students and choir director had two little surprises for the audience at the end of the performance.  First, the 8th grade girls worked on a very unique performance of “Where are You Christmas?”  Then half of the girls were dressed as angels and the other half were dressed in sweatshirts and sweatpants.  They made their own rap song about Christmas and the girls challenged each other during the performance.  What a fun and unique concert it was as the audience clapped and cheered loudly.

Jamie Sepulvado, Choral Director, told the students, “This was one of my top five favorite concerts in my twelve years as a teacher.”

The students had a blast performing and the audience loved the concert.  The Jr. High Choir Festival will be there next performance.  It is held in Dexter on February 12, 2013 and many choir groups from the area will also be there to sing for each other.  Should be a great night of musical talent.
