There was a great turn out last night at Bloomfield High School for the school’s annual “Yee-Haw” Choir Concert. Yee-haw is an annual fundraising event to help support the BHS Music Department.
Under the direction of Terri Rose, the Bloomfield High School Choir delivered a very fun evening to a rather larger crowd. Many people showed up in order to help support the choir and also to enjoy the great “corn pone humor” and Yee Haw music!
There was something for everyone at last night’s attendance.
Whether you’re favorite was a beautiful duet of “How Blue” by Michaela Heaton and Casey Duncan, or a very entertaining “Elivia” by some of the Bloomfield High School “Bestie Boys.”

At last night’s event there were special guest musicians: Tony Thorn and Buddy Heaton.
All the members of the BHS Choir got into the festivities by not only singing “Yee-Haw” tunes but also sporting some Yee-Haw clothes.
Many girls and boys had on flannel shirts with a cowboy hat to put the icing on the cake. There were even some overalls worn by a few members.
This annual fundraiser is great for the choir and it’s something that many people enjoy and look forward to.
If you’ve never attended the Yee-Haw festivities you should give the annual event a visit next year when it comes back to town.
A good time was enjoyed by all in attendance!

Today marks the 50th day of school for students at Dexter’s Southwest Elementary School. If you come across a first grader who attends Dexter school today, you may notice he or she is dressed as if they live in a different decade.
Today, first grade classrooms are taking advantage of this special day. A lot of students and teachers are dressed up in fifties attire.
If you stumble across one of the participating first graders today, you may think they starred in the movie “Grease.”
Many boys are wearing jeans with white shirts and some are wearing black jackets. A lot of the girls jumped into the festivities by wearing their decorative poodle skirts and some even have scarves decoratively tied around their neck.
In addition to dressing up for today, students in first grade enjoyed root beer floats and bubble gum.
The students in Mrs. Putnam’s class got very into today’s event as they are shown above posing with their teacher in their fifties attire.
This is a special day for the kiddos as it shows they are moving right along through the school year! Happy 50th day of school to them!
