The members of the Dexter FFA chapter recently attended the 85th annual National FFA Convention. The convention was held October 24-27th in Indianapolis, IN.
The Dexter FFA members joined a record setting 55,725 FFA members and guests who attended this year’s convention. The members from Dexter attended convention sessions where they were able to listen to National FFA officers, FFA national band and chorus, and FFA talent.
Scott Hamilton was one of many speakers that were in attendance at the convention. Scott is an Olympic gold medalist in figure skating.
The Dexter members were also on the National convention courtesy corps and assisted at the National Floriculture Career Development Event. They were invited to present flowers from the contest to patients at the Roudebush Indianapolis VA Medical Center. Members also attended a leadership workshop for personal development and the FFA Stars over America presentation.
The Dexter FFA members were also fortunate enough to watch Caleb Johns, Dexter FFA member, receive his American FFA Degree.
This was a great experience for the Dexter Future Farmers of America and all who were in attendance enjoyed the 85th annual National Convention.
