2024 SEMO Conference Volleyball Tournament, Dexter Lady Cats Earn #2 Seed

The SEMO Conference Volleyball Tournament seeds have been announced.  Jackson Indians have earned the #1 seed for the tournament.

Seeds are as follows: #1 Jackson, #2 Dexter, #3 Cape Central, #4 Notre Dame, #5 Saxony Lutheran, #6 Poplar Bluff, #7 Scott City, #8 Kennett, #9 New Madrid County Central, #10 Sikeston, #11 Oran, and #12 Charleston.

Games begin on October 3rd.  There are six courts at the SportsPlex that games will be played on.

Game 1 on Court #2 3 p.m. Kennett vs NMCC

Game 2 on Court #1 3 p.m. Saxony vs Charleston

Game 3 on Court #3 3 p.m. Scott City vs Sikeston

Game 4 on court #4 3 p.m. Poplar Bluff vs Oran

Game 5 on court #2 3:45 p.m. Jackson vs Kennett/NMCC

Game 6 on court #1 3:45 p.m. Notre Dame vs Saxony/Charleston

Game 7 on court #5 3:45 p.m. Dexter vs Scott City/Sikeston

Game 8 on court #6 3:45 p.m. Cape vs Poplar Bluff/Oran

Game 9, 10, 11 and 12 will begin at 4:30 p.m. Game 13 at 5:15 p.m.

Third place game will be at 6 p.m. on Court #5

Championship game will be also at 6 p.m. on Court #2.

The Cape SportsPlex is located at 2526 Jim Drury Way in Cape Girardeau.

Missouri High School Sports Media Rankings Sets Dexter at #3 in the State

After a big win over the East Prairie Eagles on Friday night winning 36-0, the undefeated, that's right the undefeated Dexter Bearcats earned enough votes to move them up to #3 in the MSHSAA's Class 3 according to the a 9-member panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.

Kennett Lady Indians Claim Win Over Lady 'Cats

The Dexter Girls Tennis Team traveled to Kennett on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.  Kennett defeated the Cats 8-1.

"We lost 1-8, but I was super proud of Kinley Kennedy for getting our one win," commented head Lady Cats Tennis Coach Kristi Boles.  "We sometimes go down feeling beat before we ever get there."

"I am hoping others start believing in themselves and follow in her footsteps next time we play Kennett," continued Boles.  "I feel like we are better than we played today, but I did see some great rallies going on."

Farmington Edges Lady 'Cats Tennis 5-4

The Dexter Lady 'Cats tennis team hosted the Farmington Lady Knights on Monday, September 9, 2024.  It was a tough loss 5-4.

"We are struggling a bit with our mental game right now," stated head tennis coach Kristi Boles. "We have to start believing in ourselves and figuring out how to finish a match."

"We have not had time to practice some of our problem areas due to having matches every day, but we hopefully will straighten some things out," continued Boles.

Kinley Kennedy earned a win for the Bearcats as well as Jalynn Proffer. In the doubles Dexter #2 and #3 teams defeated their opponents.

Dexter Bearcats Football Ranked 6th in Class 3A Per MO Media Rankings

The Missouri Media High School Football Rankings have been released following Week #2 action and the Dexter Bearcats are now ranked #6 in Class 3.  

"Pressure to maintain what we have going.......," commented Coach Chad Jamerson. "Pressure to make sure we stay humble!"
"Nerve wracking because it’s easy to go from the “penthouse to the outhouse” but not easy the other way around," continued Jamerson. "To a point gratifying and vindicating because of doubters and naysayers!!! Above all, just thankful for the blessings we receive.  Thankful for people that care, the kids and coaches that work so hard buying into the vision of the program, and the possibility of tomorrow!"
