Bearcats Earn Top Honors at the Kennett Quad Golf Tournament

The Dexter Golf Team earned a 1st Place finish on the road at the Kennett Quad Golf Tournament on Wednesday in their opening match against the Indians, Sikeston Bulldogs, and the Caruthersville Tigers.

Scores for Dexter were Alyssa Warren 38, Carter Stone 41, Tucker Temples 42, and Ben Christian 43 totaling 164.

Sikeston finished second with a score of 194.  Ben James finished with 47, William Lape 49, Camden Copeland 49, and Harrison Arndt 49.

Kennett had just two golfers, Dax Sutton scored 55 while Tanner Hansen scored 62.

With only three, Caruthersville Tiger's Thomas Hays scored 51, Jackson Holder scored 44 and John Thompson scored 54.

"This was a good first match for us," commented Coach Eric Sitze. "Great job by Alyssa Warren earning medalist honors.  She has worked really hard on her game over the summer and this past winter it showed today."

"Our team scores will continue to improve.  We are very young and may be inconsistent at times this year, but our goal is to try and stay under 160 right now.  Hopefully as the season progresses we can lower that goal," continued Sitze.

The Dexter Bearcats Golf Team will travel to Sikeston on Monday, March 27th.
