
Cape Girardeau, MO - Sikeston Bulldog Trace Sullivan's walk-off double earned them a 3-2 victory over the Dexter Bearcats in consolation quarterfinal of the SEMO Conference Baseball Tournament at Capaha Park on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
The game was tied at two with Sikeston batting in the bottom of the seventh when Sullivan doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
The Bearcats got things started in the first inning when Josh Kaufman grounded out, scoring one run.
Sikeston evened things up at two in the bottom of the fourth inning with a single on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Dylan Thornbrough earned the victory on the mound for Sikeston. The ace surrendered two runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out four.
Brock Wyman took the loss for Dexter. Wyman went six and a third innings, allowing three runs on 11 hits and walking one.
Riley Slusher went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bearcats in hits. Adam Saylors went 1 for 3 with a triple, and Kaeden Kennedy went 1 for 3. Josh Kaufman drove home the Bearcats’ first-inning run on a ground out to third base.

Cape Girardeau, MO - The Dexter High School baseball team opened their portion of the SEMO Conference Baseball Tournament against the #2 seeded Jackson Indians (15-5). The Bearcats watched the game slip away early and could not recover in a 10-4 loss on Friday, April 30th at Capaha Park in Cape Girardeau.
Nine days earlier when the two teams met, Jackson fell behind 6-3, but managed to score two runs in the seventh winning by only 1 run. Final score was 7-6.
On Friday, Dexter struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Jackson, giving up ten runs.
The Indians jumped out ahead 7-1 in the second inning.
Dexter tallied three runs in the fifth inning led by Adam Saylors, Peyton Driskill, and Riley Slusher.
Jackson's pitcher, Clayton Ernst, allowed five hits and four runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Adam McClanahan threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Driskill took the loss for the Bearcats. The right-hander went one and one-third innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out two.
Driskill led Dexter with two hits in four at bats.

Cape Girardeau, MO - The 2021 SEMO Conference Baseball Tournament times and locations have changed due to wet field conditions.
Originally Kennett and Poplar Bluff were going to host their games; however due to the heavy rains those games will now be played at Capaha Park in Cape Girardeau.
Seeds are #1 Kennett, #2 Jackson, #3 Poplar Bluff, #4 Cape Central, #5 Notre Dame, #6 Sikeston, #7 Dexter, and #8 NMCC.

Dexter, MO - The Swing Pink Softball Tournament has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 1, 2021. There will be nine softball teams competing in the 9th annual softball tournament! Last year's tournament was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Dexter, MO - Ryan Collier shot a match-best on senior night leading the Dexter Bearcats to a first place finish at Hidden Trails Country Club on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He scored 1-under 35.
The Bearcats finished with 171, Notre Dame was second with 185 followed by Sikeston 199, and Kennett with 200.
