Poplar Bluff, Missouri - The Dexter Bearcats placed 2nd at the Poplar Bluff Invitational boys golf tournament on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Westwood Hills Country Club.

They shot 316, 31 strokes behind Jackson (285).  Poplar Bluff finished third with a score of 320.  Farmington was fourth with 323.

Spencer Warren shot a 71 and placed 3rd.  He finished two strokes behind Jackson Indian Case Englehart who shot a 69 to win the tournament.

“Spencer hit 17 greens today and just needed a few more putts to fall,” commented Dexter coach Eric Sitze, “but he was right there with Case.”

Dylan Sitze’s 80, Cy Worley’s 82 and Ryan Collier’s 83 completed Dexter’s team score.

"Dylan was just 4 over going into his last 3 holes and had some bad luck after a bad swing," continued Sitze.  "We can take a lot of positive from today.  That's all you can do.  We are young and we are getting better that's all I can ask."

“Ryan and Cy didn’t have very good front-nine scores but stayed after it and had solid back nines for us," Sitze stated.
