
The 2019 Bernie 8th Grade Volleyball Tournament will be held on March 25th and 26th. Games will begin at 4:00 P.M.
On Monday night they will use two gyms, Pool A in the High School and Pool B in the Junior high gym. On Tuesday for tournament play first and second rounds will be also played in both gyms beginning at 4 p.m. The finals will be played in the high school gym.
Trophies will be given for 1st and 2nd place winners.

Bernie, Missouri - Eight Bernie High School seniors were honored during Senior Night at the last regular season basketball game on Friday night against the Malden Greenwave, three players, three cheerleaders and the mascot Maverick.
Senior basketball players
Josh Ellenburg, son of Allan and Tommie Ellenburg. Ellenburg's activities include FBLA, FCA, Beta Club and Basketball. His future plans after graduation are to attend the University of Missouri to study Convergence Journalism and pursue a career in Multimedia Production.
Hunter Slavings, son of Robert and Beth Slavings. Slavings' activities include Basketball, Baseball and Beta Club. His future plans after graduation are to attend Southeast Missouri State University and pursue a degree in Business.
Weston Zoll, son of Donald and Brandee Zoll. Zoll's activities include Basketball, Baseball, Beta Club, FCA and Pep Club. His future plans after graduation are to attend Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla and major in Geological Engineering.
Maverick the Mascot:
Devin Barnes, is the son of Johnna Craft and Teddy Barnes. Barnes' active in Beta Club, Band, Scholar Bowl, Speech and Debate, Pep Club and Cheerleading. His future plans after graduation are to become a mascot in college, and pursue a future in Engineering or Law.

Cymber Arnold, daughter of Derik and Casey Arnold and Tom and Lacey Winchester. Arnold's activities include Student Council, FBLA, FCA, Beta Club, Volleyball, Cheerleading and Softball. Her future plans after graduation are to attend John A. Logan College to play volleyball and work towards obtaining an Engineering Degree.
Ryleigh Foster, daughter of Shannon and Pam Foster. Foster's activities include Volleyball, Cheerleading, Beta Club, Yearbook, FCA and FBLA. Her future plans after graduation are to attend college and become an Ultrasound Tech.
Makayla Turner, daughter of Lisa Turner and Ron Turner. Turner's activities include Beta Club, FBLA, FCA, Student Council, Yearbook, Volleyball, Cheerleading and Softball. Her future plans after graduation are to attend the University of Missouri and pursue a major in Architectural Studies in Interior Design.
Madi Wooldridge, daughter of Chad and Heather Wooldridge. Wooldridge's activities include Volleyball, Cheerleading, Softball, Yearbook, FBLA and Beta Club. Her future plans after graduation are to attend college and major in Biology and become a Dermatologist Assistant.

Bloomfield, Missouri - The #2 seeded Bernie Mules defeated the #7 Puxico Indians 68-27 in Game #3 of the SCAA Boys Basketball Tournament on Monday, January 21, 2019.
Bernie led 17 - 14 at the end of the first period, 36-22 at the the half and 54 - 26 at the end of three. Bernie held the Indians to only 5 points in the second half.
Josh Ellenburg recorded a game-high 18 points for the Mules on 8 buckets and two from the charity stripe.
Hunter Slavings added 17 points on three buckets, two treys and was 5/6 from the free throw line.

Puxico has been eliminated from SCAA Tournament play. Bernie will now face the winner of the #3 Advance vs #6 Bloomfield game on Thursday, January 24th at 8:30 p.m. at the Bloomfield High School gym.

Bernie, Missouri - The #1 seed Hayti JV boys basketball team had to forfeit due to the Class 1A State Football Championship held on Saturday. The Hayti Football Team easily defeated Lincoln 44-0.
#4 Malden JV was upset by the #5 Gideon junior varsity team. Gideon will play Senath at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 3rd. Hayti will play Malden at 4 p.m.
#2 Doniphan defeated #7 Portageville and #3 bernie defeated #6 Zalma. Portageville will play Zalma at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Doniphan will play Bernie at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
Consolation game will be at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5th 7th place game at 4 p.m., 3rd place game at 6:30 p.m. and championship game at 7:45 p.m.
