Bloomfield, Missouri - The Bloomfield Wildcats golf team opened their season at the Crowley Ridge Recreational Center with a win over Malden and Doniphan.
Levi Clary also earned his first medal of the season with a score of 43.
"I was very pleased with Levi’s play today," commented Bloomfield High School Golf Coach Travis Westbrook. "He is supposed to be our leader as a returning varsity player that we will need playing like that if we are going to have success this year. It was his first time being medalist so I’m sure he’s pretty excited."
"Overall our team scores were about where I figured they would be, it’s just tough to score well this early in the season due to the lack of practice time outside and course condition," continued Westbrook. "We have about 7 kids competing very closely for the 5 varsity spots so it will be sort of a rebuilding year but I think we have enough talent that by the end of the season we should be competing for another district title."
