2018 Bernie Junior Varsity Volleyball Tournament

Bernie, Missouri - The 2018 Bernie Junior Varsity Volleyball Tournament will be held on Thursday, August 30th and Friday, August 31st beginning around 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Each team will play three games on Thursday and the results of pool play will determine their place on the tournmanet bracket for Friday's playoffs.

Pool A will be played in the High School gym and Pool B will be play in the Elementary gym.  The finals will be played in the High School gym.

Trophies will be given for first and second places.

Spectators will be admitted through the High School gate and their hand will be stamped so they may enter either gym.  Concesions will be located in the high school lobby.

Competed are Bernie, Sikeston, Bloomfield, Scott City, Poplar Bluff, Puxico, Twin Rivers, and Portageville.

Pool A will be Bernie, Puxico, Sikeston and Twin Rivers.

Pool B will be Bloomfield, Poplar Bluff, Scott City, and Portageville.

High School Gym Thursday, August 30th

4 p.m. Bernie vs Twin Rivers

5 p.m. Sikeston vs Puxico

6 p.m. Bernie vs Puxico

7 p.m. Sikeston vs Twin Rivers

8 p.m. Puxico vs Twin Rivers

9 p.m. Bernie vs Sikeston

Elementary Gym Thursday, August 30th

4 p.m. Bloomfield vs Scott City

5 p.m. Portageville vs Poplar Bluff

6 p.m. Bloomfield vs Poplar Bluff

7 p.m. Portageville vs Scott City

8 p.m. Bloomfield vs Portageville

9 p.m. Scott City vs Poplar Bluff

17th Annual Bootheel Counseling Services Golf Tournament Set
Dexter, Missouri - Bootheel Counseling Services will host their 17th Annual 4-Person Benefit Golf Scramble at the Hidden Trails Country Club on Saturday, September 22nd  in Dexter.

Tee-off will be at 1:00 p.m. with registration and meal at 11:30 p.m.  Cost is $65.00 per person and that will include food, beverages on the course, t-shirts, and door prizes.

Golf cars will also be available for $30 each and must be requested by Friday, September 14th.

Proceeds from this tournament will be utilized for suicide prevention and counseling services.

Dexter Lady Cats Tennis Team Sweeps Lady Dawgs

Sikeston, Missouri - The Lady Cats Tennis Team kicked off its 2018 season against the Lady Bulldogs in Sikeston.  Their home opener on Friday, August 24th was rained out against Poplar Bluff.

Dexter defeated Sikeston 3-0 in doubles action and 6-0 in singles competition.

In doubles action Jadyn Northcutt and Abby Dorton defeated Malyn Hodges and Alyssa Fields 8-0.  Malia Cook and Maci McBride beat Kristiana Frazier and Izzy Collins 8-.  Courtney Northcutt and Jaden Cato defeated Sadie Phillips and Naomi Frazier 8-1.

Dexter will host Charleston on Tuesday, August 28th at 4 p.m.

2018 T.S. Hill Middle School Football Schedule

Dexter, Missouri - The 2018 T.S. Hill Middle School 7th and 8th grade football team will begin their season on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at New Madrid County Central.  Game time 5:00 p.m.

They will then travel to Malden on Thursday, September 13th with a game time of 5:30 p.m.

Their first home game of the season will be against Kennett on Thursday, September 20 at 5:00 p.m. and then they will host Scott City on Monday, September 24th at 5:00 p.m.

Their last two games will be at doniphan and East Prairie.  Doniphan will be on Thursday, September 27th at 5:00 p.m. and East Prairie will be Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 5:30 p.m.

2018 7th/8th Grade Football Schedule

9/6 at NMCC 5 p.m.

9/13 at Malden 5:30 p.m.
