Players of the Week Against Sikeston

Dexter, Missouri -The ShowMe Times is proud to highlight the outstanding performance of two Dexter Bearcat Football Athletes.  Each week the ShowMe Times will choose two players – one offensive player an done defensive player who will be featured as Players of the Week.

Leadership on the athletic field is often a good indicator of the future development of our young students and is a perfect training ground for future leaders.

This week several athletes contributed on the field, and many athletes showed extreme professionalism against their opponent; however only two players were chosen.

The ShowMe Times is pleased to announce the Players of the Week are Austin Chesser and Bo McMullin.

The Offensive Player of the Week is #88 Austin Chesser.

Austin had a team-high 45 yards on three passes against Sikeston.

"Austin is a big threat at receiver for us," commented head football coach Justin Peden.  "He already has over 300 yards receiving and teams need to account for him on every play."

"He is a leader and good example for our younger receivers," continued Peden.

Austin is a senior at Dexter High School.

Defensive Player of the Week is Bo McMullin.

Bo had a team-high 10 tackles for the Bearcats prior to leaving the game with an injury.

"Bo worked hard to come back from injury and perform at a high level this year," stated Peden.  "He is only a sophomore, but I consider him a veteran."

"I am excited to see how he develops in the future," continued Peden.

Bo is a sophomore at Dexter High School.

Congratulations to both of these two fine young men on their accomplishments.

The Bearcats will be back in action when they take on Caruthersville on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Charles Bland Stadium.  Game time 7:00 p.m.
