Fisk, Missouri – The Bernie junior high Mules grabbed a couple of championships at the Fisk tournament last week.  The #2 seeded 7^th grade boys basketball team upset the #1 seed Neelyville 27-27 in overtime, while the 8th grade team defeated Qulin 42-37.

Blake Harty hit a 3-pointer to tie the game against Neelyville with 31 seconds in the game before going into overtime.

Harty recorded a game-high 14 points including one 3-pointer for the Mules.  Kade Burk added 7 points and Trey Jackson scored a trey.

In the 8^th grade contest, the Mules defeated the #3 seeded Qulin 42-37.

Weston Zoll recorded a team-high 18 points for the Mules.  All of his points were 3-pointers!  Josh Ellenburg recorded 13 points.  Trenton Johnson added 6 and Jeffery Brown tallied 4 more.

Bernie will be back in action when the 8^th grade Mules play Woodland at 7:45 p.m. at the Bearcat Event Center on Monday, November 17^th.  The 7^th Mules will play Advance at 5:15 p.m. on Monday in the SCAA Basketball Tournament.

Dexter, Missouri – The SCAA boys middle school basketball tournament continued Monday evening at the Bearcat Event Center in Dexter.

7^th grade boys basketball team received a bye in the round 1.  They will take on the #4 seed the Bloomfield Wildcats at 4 p.m. at Bearcat Event Center.

Bloomfield defeated Woodland on Saturday to earn a chance in round 2.

#2 Bernie Mules defeated #7 Puxico Indians and will play #3 Advance at 5:15 p.m. at the Bearcat Event Center.  Bernie defeated #7 Puxico on Saturday and Advance defeated #6 the Richland Rebels.

The 7th grade Championship game is slated for Tuesday, November 18^th at 4 p.m.

In 8^th grade action #1 Dexter defeated #8 Bell City on Saturday and will play #5 Richland at 6:30 p.m. at the Bearcat Event Center.  Bloomfield seeded #4 was upset by Richland Saturday morning.

Bernie seeded #2 will play #3 Woodland at 7:45 p.m..  Bernie defeated #7 Puxico while Woodland defeated #6 Advance in round one on Saturday.

The 8^th grade championship will be held at the Bearcat Event Center on Tuesday, November 18^th at 7:45 p.m.

Kennett, Missouri – The Lady ‘Cats of Dexter traveled to Kennett on Tuesday evening to take on the Lady Indians.  Both the 7^th and 8^th grade middle school teams sailed to victory!

The 7^th grade girls (9-3) defeated Kennett 24 – 5 holding the Indians scoreless in the first half.  The 8^th grade team (12-1) also won their game beating Kennett 56 – 16.

In 7^th grade action Hannah Witlow and Maddie Slaton tallied game-high 7 points.  Amber Werneck and Shea Baker scored 6 points each.  Annie Slaton racked in 5 points.

Dexter, Missouri – The Dexter middle school boys basketball program will enter the 2014 SCAA Middle School Tournament with a perfect record on Saturday.  Both the 7^th and 8^th grade teams improved their records to 8-0 defeating Puxico on Veterans Day.

It was a packed gym at T.S. Hill Middle School with the 7^th grade Bearcats defeating Puxico 50 – 24.  The 8^th grade team beat Puxico 62 – 18.

In 7^th grade action Brodie Pollock tallied a game-high 20 points for the Bearcats.  Garrett Henson at 9 points including one 3-pointer.  Jack Scruggs also tallied 9 points.   The Bearcats scored double digits in both the first and second periods prior to the half.

The tournaments take place in Dexter on Saturday, November 15^th, Monday, November 17^th and Tuesday, November 18^th in both the T.S. Hill Middle School gym and the Bearcat Event Center.

Dexter 8^th grade team will play Bell City at 10:15 a.m. at the Middle School on Saturday morning.  Bloomfield will play Richland at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the BEC.  Bernie will play Puxico at 10:15 a.m. at the Bearcat Event Center and the Woodland will play Advance at the Middle School at 9:00 a.m.
