Dexter, Missouri - Are you ready for some FOOTBALL!!!!  Coach Peden and his Bearcats are ready to take the field this season with the first ever Dexter 7 on 7 Football Tournament Peden style!

We’re just a few weeks away from Dexter Bearcat Football season, but interest is already building with noise of a great Homecoming Community Event being planned.  New head coach Justin Peden has injected a renewed optimism for the future of Dexter football.

“I’m real excited about the new coach and the new attention about bringing Dexter into a winning season.” stated one Dexter Bearcat fan. “I think the whole town of Dexter needed this boost!  They are ready for something new and invigorating.”

This inaugural scrimmage will be held at the Charles Bland Stadium on Saturday, July 20th with the Hayti Indians, Jefferson County, Obion County, Tennessee Rebels and the Cape Central Tigers traveling to Dexter.  Game time is 10:00 a.m.

"We are very excited to show everyone what we have been working on this summer," commented new Bearcat's head football Coach Justin Peden.  "It will be great to see how other schools are performing and hopefully we can make this an annual event."

Coach Peden would like to thank Hickory Log, Town & Country, Southern Bank, ShowMe Times, Harps, Busy B Lumber, Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home, Shelter Insurance, Holey Cow Cafe', and the Dexter Bearcat Booster Club for making this event possible.

CountyWide Insurance will be grilling hotdogs along with the volunteers and those that donated all of the food, drink and ice cream for the football players.

There will be no cost to enter the stadium and watch the 7 on 7 Football Tournament; however any and all donations are encouraged and welcomed.  The football team has chosen to give all donations received to the Ben Kruse 18 FORE LIFE FOUNDATION who give "love offerings" to those battling cancer.  To date 18 FORE LIFE has given over 1 million dollars to local families fighting this terrible disease.

"What a great way to spend your Saturday and for such a good cause." continued Coach Peden.

Brice Beck, Greg Lummuka, Brian Becker, Mark Thrower and Cody Boyer who are all assistant coaches for the Dexter Bearcats will be on hand to further study and help the boys with their plays and formations.

Family and friends are encouraged to stay after the tournament for a "Meet and Greet" with the coaches.

You won't want to miss the exciting action of the Bearcats!  Join them and show the world that DEXTER has BEARCAT SPIRIT!!
