James Chism, son of the late Thelmo Chism and Imogene Springs Chism, was born on October 1, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, and departed this life on November 21, 2023, at his residence in Wappapello, Missouri, at the age of 70 years.
Mr. Chism was a Veteran of the Missouri National Guard and he worked for Dumey Construction until 2005. He was a member of the Wappapello CrappieClub and Bass Club.
On May 27, 2005, in Greenville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Sharon Ward. James and Sharon remarried in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 4, 2021. Mrs. Chism survives of their home in Wappapello.
Along with his wife, Sharon, he is survived by two sons, Heath Chism of North Carolina, and Andy Chism and wife Amanda of Bloomfield, Missouri; by two step-sons, Michael Hicks of Bloomfield, Missouri and Shawn Stevens of Sikeston, Missouri; by two step-daughters, Shawna Suggs of Wappapello, Missouri and Jennifer Mattison and husband Shawn of Jacksonville, Florida; by his brother Chuck Chism and wife Opal of Wappapello, Missouri; by his sister, Debbie Snider and husband Jeff of Dexter, Missouri; ande by eleven grandchildren, Conner, Sylas, Kyler, Zeke, Maggie, Elijah, Ben, Chelsey, Andy, Bella, and Taylor.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Chism, and by his sister, Sandra Hill.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.

Madge Christine Strickland, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Shemwell and Cinda Lucille Raines Shemwell, was born on March 16, 1933, in Lilbourn, Missouri, and departed this life on November 20, 2023, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 90 years.
Mrs. Strickland was a homemaker. She attended Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex, Missouri, and was a resident of Essex.
On May 14, 1955, in Lilbourn, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Doyle Strickland. Mr. Strickland preceded her in death on February 14, 1996.
She is survived by two sons, Doyle Strickland and fiancé Patricia Mitchell of Essex, Missouri, and Walter Strickland and wife Barbara of Essex, Missouri; by her daughter, Dorothy Collins and husband Steve of Morehouse, Missouri; by her sister, Ruth Middleton of Sikeston, Missouri; by her special caregiver, Stacy Mitchell; and by seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Vera McDaniel.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. James Malloy officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Essex Cemetery.

Ronald Dreschel, son of the late Alfred & Catherine Dreschel was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 17, 1937, and departed this life on November 18, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 86.
Mr. Dreschel, previously of Bloomfield, Missouri, recently moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He worked at Gates Rubber Company based in Denver, Colorado until his retirement in 1993. He served on the Bloomfield Housing Board Authority from 2004 to 2021.
He enjoyed meeting John Pruitt, Phyllis Kull, Joe Hankins and other close friends for breakfast and discussing current events at Corner Café in Dexter, Missouri. He was an avid sports fan and loved to share his wealth of knowledge on his favorite sport, baseball. He was of the Methodist faith.
Along with his wife, Violet Dreschel, of the home, he is survived by three children, Robin Kay Dreschel, Parker, Colorado, and Kurt Ronald Dreschel, Parker Colorado, and Tanya Lynne Dreschel, Briancon, France; two grandsons, Nicholas Dreschel, Parker, Colorado, and Mathieu Dulong de Rosnay, Briancon, France; Niece, Stacey Bartoli, Los Angeles, California and nephew, Eric Dreschel, Los Angeles, California
Also, four stepchildren, Christy (Carl) Kinnison, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Michael (Lynne) DeWitt, Sikeston, Missouri, Mark DeWitt, Carbondale, Illinois, Wendy (Scott) Hepler, Dexter, Missouri; Eight Step-Grandchildren and Nine Great Step-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Dreschel, his mother, Catherine Dreschel and his brother, Dave Dreschel.

Dianne Lee Fish-Compoz, born July 21, 1954 in Neveda, Iowa, and passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023 in Dexter Missouri. Dianne was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a woman of many talents and passions.
Dianne was an amazing crafter, loved to paint watercolors, and was a skilled seamstress. She was also an avid reader and adored her Siamese cats. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, hard work ethic, big dimples and her infectious smile and laughter.
Dianne was the daughter of John and Carol Fish. She is survived by her four children, Justin Viers, Kimberlee Spencer, Rachel Montoya, and Stacy Compoz; her sisters , Barb Compoz, Sandra Fish and was preceded in death by her brother Steve Fish. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Jamison and Jackson Spencer; her nieces, Charlene Mullins and Audrey Covington; and her nephews, Eddie Compoz and Ryan Fish.
She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
No services will be held as that was her wish, she will be laid to rest in the Highland Park Cemetery in Maxwell, Iowa on a future date.

Dianne’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. May she rest in peace.

Linda Marie Wilson of Owensboro, Kentucky, daughter of the late Thomas Lee and Eva Marie Wilson was born on December 29, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri, and passed from this life on November 24, 2023, in Owensboro, Kentucky, at the age of 68 years.
She was of the Baptist Faith.
She enjoyed listening to music, loved to sing and dance, loved collecting jewelry more than anything, never met a stranger and her favorite food was a turkey leg.
Linda is survived by one sister, Brenda Glass Miles of Henderson, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Sheila Wilson of Calhoun, Georgia; two nieces, Lisa Duvall and Gina Majors; one nephew, David Wilson; as well as a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, David Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
A Graveside Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Pastor Randy Duncan of Henderson, Kentucky, officiating with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Missouri, in charge of all arrangements.
