
Michael Andrew Fritts, son of the late Dorothy Fritts, was born on November 28, 1950, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and departed this life on October 28, 2022, at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri, at the age of 71 years.
Mr. Fritts was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He was a former mechanic, carpenter, and machinist. He attended First Baptist Church in Bernie, Missouri and was a resident of Bernie. He was a life member of the Veterans of the Vietnam War, Vietnam Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Fritts and wife Emma of Graniteville, South Carolina.
Other than by his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister in infancy.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Gilbert and Rev. Ivan Mekan officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Patricia “Elaine” Brown, daughter of the late Hershel Palmer and Mary-Rita Murphy Palmer, was born on September 8, 1940, in Bernie, Missouri, and departed this life on October 30, 2022, at her residence in Bernie, Missouri, at the age of 82 years.
On June 27, 1958, in Bernie, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Charles Brown. Mr. Brown preceded her in death on July 6, 1991.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker, she enjoyed birdwatching in her free time, she loved all animals, and she loved cooking and baking. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Brown of Bernie, Missouri; by her granddaughter, Melissa Cobb, and husband Dustin; by three great-grandchildren, Sidney Cobb and fiancé Dalton Headley, Lesley Cobb, and Mandy Cobb; and by her great-great granddaughters, Stella Headley.
Graveside services will be held at Bernie Cemetery on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.

Elsie Lorraine Buttry, daughter of the late Merley Floyd Quick and Cleo Wilson Quick, was born in Leora, Missouri on May 6, 1924 and departed this life in Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri on October 31, 2022 at the age of 98.
Mrs. Buttry had worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis for 10 years, was joint owner/operator of Western Auto Store in Bernie, Missouri for 17 years, was a traveler and a homemaker. She was a member of Bernie United Methodist Church.
She was united in marriage to Lendal Buttry in Puxico, Missouri on October 18, 1942. Mr. Buttry preceded his wife in death on January 3, 2011.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Buttry & wife Carolyn of Bernie, Missouri; by two daughters, Judy Steffensen & husband John of Gainesville, Missouri and Rita Freed & husband Kenny of St. Peters, Missouri; by one sister, Mildred Rainey of Dexter, Missouri; by seven grandchildren, Tony Freed, Chuck Buttry & wife Noelle, Jennifer Burton & husband Scott, Susan Hart & husband Jim, Justin Steffensen & wife Tina, Monica Roever & husband Jeff and Janette Dawson & husband Tyler; twenty two great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; also by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband by one brother, Millie Quick; by one sister Viola Ross.

Shirley Fay McRoy, daughter of the late Grady Sandusky and Ruby Shelby Sandusky, was born on July 23, 1942, in Bernie, Missouri, and departed this life on October 29, 2022, at Winchester Nursing Center in Bernie, Missouri, at the age of 80 years.
Mrs. McRoy was a former minister at Faith Fellowship in Dexter, Missouri. She also had worked for International Hat and Elders Manufacturing in Dexter, she was a former JTPA Counselor for DAEOC, and she was a former teacher's assistant for Dexter Public Schools, assisting children with special needs.
On June 24, 1961, in Dexter, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Charles Richard McRoy. Mr. McRoy preceded her in death on January 24, 2021.
She is survived by her son, Scott McRoy of Dexter, Missouri, by her daughter, Angela Ortt and husband Ken of Dexter, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Ashley Soles of Kansas City, Missouri, Chasity Davis and fiancé Matt Carlson of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Erik Ortt and wife Keara of Lexington, Kentucky; and by one great-grandchild, Owen Davis of Lexington, Kentucky; and by his "adopted" son, Burl Turner and wife Melissa of Dexter, Missouri.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Kenneth Sandusky, Jim Sandusky, Larry Sandusky, Carlos Sandusky, and Barry Sandusky; and by four sisters, Ann Atchison, Dot McNeece, June Brandon and Sally Robertson.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Brad Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.

Marilyn Deloris Cartwright, daughter of Cletis A and Opal Wolpers Miller, was born April 12, 1945, in Dexter, Missouri, and departed this life October 29, 2022, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Facility, in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 77 years old.
She was united in marriage to Loran “Bo” Cartwright on April 28, 1972, in Dexter, Missouri. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage together traveling the country. Marilyn thoroughly enjoyed genealogy, tracing her lineage back to the 1800s.
Survivors include, one son, James L Cartwright of Bloomfield, Missouri and one daughter, Marcia K Enax (Otto) of Robinson, Illinois.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bo Cartwright; one daughter, Amy Elizabeth Cartwright; three sisters, Janis Midgett, Lisa Miller, and Marcia Miller.
