In Memory of Martha Jane Kincade

Martha Jane Kincade, daughter of the late Forrest Kitterman and Emma Francis Goodson Kitterman, was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 5, 1946 and departed this life at her son’s residence in Rural Bernie, Missouri on May 6, 2022 at the age of 75.

Mrs. Kincade was a homemaker and a resident of Bernie.

She was united in marriage to Chalmer Kincade. Mr. Kincade preceded his wife in death.

Survivors include two sons, James Edward Jankowski and Christopher Allen Jankowski both of Bernie, Missouri; by one daughter, Susanne Marie Staton of Madison Heights, Michigan; by seven grandchildren, Haydn Paul Owens, Colton Seigel Jankowski, Braylin Glen Jankowski, Zainyn Christopher Jankowski, Randy Robert Staton and Devin Skyler Trammell; by five great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Kincade was preceded in death other than by her parents and by her husband, by one son, Robert Bobby C. Jankowski; by one brother, Jimmy Kitterman; by two sisters, Pat Coker and Nancy Buttry.

Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 12:30 until 2:30. Interment to follow in Malden Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.

Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Joy Ione Watson
Joy Ione Watson, daughter of the late Charles W. Byrd and Jewell Ruby Byrd, was born on June 5, 1927, in Grubbs, Arkansas, and departed this life on May 5, 2022, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 94 years.

Mrs. Watson was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter. She was a member of the Bernie Church of Christ in Bernie, Missouri, the former deputy tax collector for Elk Township, and on the ARC Board of Directors.

On March 3, 1945, in Paragould, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to George Watson. Mr. Watson preceded her in death on February 3, 2012.

She is survived by two sons, Joe Watson and wife Sharlette of Dexter, Missouri, and Marty Watson of Malden, Missouri; by her daughter, Kim Harrington and husband Mark of Lake Mary, Florida.; by five grandchildren, Jimmy Wayne Watson, Jarrod Watson, Kyle Watson, Ryan Harrington, and Connor Harrington; and by seven great-grandchildren, Adley Jo Watson, Tatum Watson, Reese Watson, Rylee Watson, Luke Watson, Will Watson and Ellory Watson.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Watson.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Malden Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to the Stoddard County ARC, P.O. Box 444, Dexter, Missouri 63841, OR The Children's Home, 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas 72450-3319. Envelopes will be provided at Mathis Funeral Home.

In Memory of Helen Elizabeth Hon

Helen Elizabeth Hon of Puxico, Missouri daughter of  John and Adeline (Feldhous) Huetsch born on January 01, 1941 in Columbia, Illinois and passed away on May 05, 2022 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 81 years.

Helen was a member of Berong Church in Zelma, Missouri.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, raising cattle, spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Helen married Gene Hon on June 13, 1999 in Columbia, Illinois.

Helen is survived by her husband Gene Hon; two sons Ron (Terri) Jennings of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Bryce Hon of Puxico, Missouri; one daughter Lana Lee of Puxico, Missouri; two step sons Ben (Lodi) Hon of Puxico, Missouri and Rodney (Melinda) Jennings of Dexter, Missouri; three step daughters Janet Coleman of Dexter, Missouri, Dena (Rob) Lutz of Baldwin, Missouri and Linda (Mark) Frey of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; eleven grandchildren Jason Jennings, Jessica Jennings, Holden Jennings, Jay Hon, Alex Goins, Brad Anspach, Marcus Frey, Alex Frey, Eric Zimmerman, Rodney Jennings Jr. and Chris Fox; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; one brother-in-law Ervin Rensing; one sister-in-law Carol Millingan and several nieces and nephews.  She is preceeded in death by her parents John and Adeline Huetsch, one grandson Keith Robertson, one great granddaughter Cali Murphy; five brothers and three sisters.  A host of family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Monday May 09, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:30 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Funeral Service will Monday May 09, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel with Brother Dan Overton and Brother Leroy Heffner officiating with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Interment will follow at the Poplar Bluff Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

In Memory of Doris Irene Gamblin

Doris Irene Gamblin, daughter of the late Charles A. May and Edna Tarbutton May Talley, was born on March 14, 1940, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and departed this life on May 4, 2022, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 82 years.

Mrs. Gamblin was a former employee of Elders Manufacturing in Dexter, Missouri, she was a former cook for the Bloomfield Nursing Center, in Bloomfield, Missouri, and she had worked for a termite company in California. She was affiliated with the Missionary Baptist Church and was a resident of Bloomfield. She enjoyed playing games with her family and on her phone and working crossword puzzles. As a former resident of Dexter, she was involved with many activities and leaves behind many friends and loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Cowgur of Bloomfield, Missouri; and by her sister, Mary Lou Thurman of Bloomfield, Missouri.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ed May.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

A memorial service will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Andy May officiating.

In Memory of Evelyn Alice Fowler

Evelyn Alice Fowler, daughter of the late Frank Westmorlan and Althea Patillo Westmorlan, was born on September 16, 1926, in Dunklin County, Missouri, and departed this life on May 2, 2022, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 95 years.

Mrs. Fowler was a homemaker and a resident of Essex, Missouri. She was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ and she enjoyed volunteering at Thursday school and working with the preschoolers. She was dedicated to her family, good-hearted, generous, and hospitable, opening her home to many gatherings through the years.

On June 14, 1945, in Kennett, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Charles Sherman Fowler. Mr. Fowler preceded her in death on August 1, 2009.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Fowler and wife Barbara of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Rick Fowler and wife Teresa of Maryville, Tennessee; by her daughter, Jeanie Fowler Kinsey and husband Russ of Washington, Missouri; and by ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicky Walters; by three brothers, Bud Westmorlan, Ken Westmorlan, and Hubert Westmorlan; and by her sister, Kathleen Westmorlan Sykes.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

A Celebration of Life Service will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Friends and family are invited to contribute to Evelyn’s service by sharing a memory or story to commemorate Evelyn’s life. These can be shared on the Tribute Wall of Evelyn’s obituary at mathisfuneralhomes.com or they can be personally shared during Evelyn’s service.
