
David DeWayne Shelden, age 49, passed away April 15, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. David bravely and courageously fought cancer for 15 years. His battle was won when the angels sang him home. David is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Whitney C. Shelden; children, Christopher Conrad Shelden, Sierra Drew Shelden, and Piper Graziella Vassallo; mother and step-father, Louise and Douglas Stallings; father and step-mother, Joseph and Lily Shelden; siblings, Lee Fulkerson II, and Crystal (Tim) Seul; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and loving extended family members.
David was honest, loyal, brave, and true, and always told it like it was. His dedication, protection, strength, courage, and undying love for his family will be greatly missed. He will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, friend, and motorcycle riding music lover.
Memorial services will be held at Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church, 1201 E Elk St, Dexter, MO, on April 23 beginning at 3pm and at Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN, on April 30 beginning at 5 pm. A Celebration of David’s life will be held on July 4th on the Farm at Cross Creek in Kingston, TN.
Whitney also wanted to share this special note…. Not long before his passing, as his body began to surrender to the pain and suffering, David woke and told me he dreamed we learned to dance together in perfect harmony. I will always remember the sincerity of the love and pure joy he expressed. Our last dance was nothing like our first, both forever imprinted upon my soul.

Mary Jean (Watson) Bolin, daughter of the late Henry Homer “Dub” Watson and Ruby Mildred (Harris) Watson, was born on February 13, 1950, in Sikeston, Missouri, and departed this life on April 18, 2022, at her residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 72 years.
Mary was a 1968 graduate and salutatorian of her class at Bloomfield High School, where she was a cheerleader, twirler, and played the flute in the band. She was a former secretary for the federal government working in St. Louis from 1969 to 1986. Most will remember Mary from her many years working at Southeast Health in Dexter, where she was an office manager for Dr. Jalal and Dr. Ramesh, retiring in 2019.
Mary was one of the most selfless people, always giving and thinking of others. She always had a smile on her face and loved to laugh with her family and friends. Everyone was welcome in her home and to know her was to love her. Nothing could dim the bright light that she brought to this world, even after she was diagnosed with a form of dementia.
On November 29, 1968, in Bloomfield, Missouri, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Eddie Dean Bolin. Mr. Bolin survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Nikki Gaylord and husband Chad of Murray Kentucky, and Amy Christian and husband Bruce of Dexter, Missouri; by her brother, Dr. Vance Watson of Starkville, Mississippi; by her sister, Sue Gremore of Germantown, Tennessee; and by two grandchildren, Ben Christian of Dexter, Missouri and Katie Christian of Jackson, Missouri.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ben Kruse.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Mary Ellen Barnett, the daughter of the late John Walker and Mae James Walker, was born on March 27, 1947.
On June 4, 1970, in Houston, TX, she was united in marriage to Clettuis Wayne Barnett. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2002.
She was a member of the Church of Christ Church in Bernie, MO.
Mrs. Barnett died April 16, 2022, in Malden, MO at the age 75 years.
Survivors include 1 son, John Barnett of Poplar Bluff, MO; 1 sister, Goldie Kirkpatrick of Corinth, MS; 1 brother, James Eugene Walker of Kennett, MO; 1 granddaughter, Hannah Barnett and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by 1 son, Douglas Wayne Barnett; 1 grandson, Tyler Barnett; 1 brother, Bill Walker; 2 sisters, Lucille Jackson and Dolly Ford.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Church of Christ Church of Bernie, with Mr. Stan Dauck officiating.

Loren Lavel Wilson of Bloomfield, Missouri the son of the late Edward and Mary (Strauser) Wilson was born on September 07, 1934 in Leora, Missouri and passed away on April 15, 2022 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 87 years.
Loren was a member of the Leora Missionary Baptist Church in Leora, Missouri were he also served as a Deacon. Recently he was attending the Gilead (Hills) General Baptist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri. He enjoyed having fish frys, traveling with family, going to the community exercise class, reading his Bible and going on mission trips. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Loren married Dorothy Mae Jones on January 01, 1954 in Essex, Missouri until her passing on February 09, 2020.
Loren is survived by one son Keith (Vicky) Wilson of Bloomfield, Missouri; two daughters Sherry (Gary) Cole of Malden, Missouri and Tracey (Philip) Tippen of Bloomfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren Michael (Kara) Wilson of Bloomfield, Missouri, Casey (Randall) Thomas of Forney, Texas, Aaron (Kerri) Cole of Malden, Missouri, Caleb Cole of Jackson, Missouri, Katie Tippen of Bloomfield, Missouri, Lauren Tippen of St. Louis, Missouri, Isabelle Tippen of Bloomfield, Missouri; eight great grandchildren Kaydence Cole, William Cole, Hayden Rocamontes, Tracilynne Thomas, Zayden Thomas, Zander Thomas, Libby Wilson and Annie Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Mary Wilson; his wife Dorothy Wilson and one sister Shelby Bennett. A host of family and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held on Thursday April 21, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday April 22, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday April 22, 2022 at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel of Dexter, Missouri with Rev. Steve Tippen officiating and Rev. Ronnie Stevens reading the obituary.
Interment will be held at the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital in Loren’s name.

Gary Lee Young, son of Earnest Earl Young and Neva Jane Causbie Young of Bernie, Missouri, was born on November 30, 1947, in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on April 15, 2022, at Southeast Health Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 74.
Mr. Young was a former brick mason and a resident of Dexter.
On May 6, 1977, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri he was united in marriage to Carol Chatman. Mrs. Young survives of their home in Dexter.
Other than by his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Jeremiah Young and wife Stephanie of Dexter, Missouri and Josh Young and wife Jessica of Dexter, Missouri; by two grandchildren, Bronwen Young (Adam Saylors) and Ryan Young; by three step- grandchildren Jack Carey, Orin Carey, and Drala Carey; by three brothers, Earl Dennis Young and wife Rosemarie of Lee’s Summit, Missouri Chris Young and wife Lisa of Destrehan, Louisiana, and Mike Young and wife Jackie of Gramercy, Louisiana; and by his beloved pet, Booger.
