
Henry Avery, son of the late John Wes Avery, Alene Lawson Avery and Blanche Harper Avery was born on November 28, 1946, in Circle City, Missouri, and departed this life on February 19, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 75 years.
Mr. Avery was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a former forklift operator at Faurcia Automotive in Dexter. He was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a resident of Dexter. Mr. Avery was a member of the Dexter Masonic Lodge #511, Kenady-Hanks American Legion Post #59 and was a volunteer at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
On October 19, 1973, in Clarkton, Missouri he was united in marriage to Nanny Lou Baker. Mrs. Avery survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to his wife Nanny, he is survived by two sons, Stacy Avery and wife Dr. Suzanne of Nashville, Tennessee and David and wife Michelle Avery of Sikeston, Missouri; four grandchildren Bryant Avery, Reid Avery, Sophie Avery, and Alexander Avery; by his brother, Tom Eugene Avery of El Cajon, California; and by his sister, Bonnie Cooper of Dexter, Missouri.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Vader Stultz.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Masonic services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Sterling L. McVay, 86 of Pekin,Illinois passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at his home. He was born to Joseph L. and Nora (Young) McVay on November 7, 1935 in New Madrid, Missouri.
Sterling was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Gene.
He is survived by; one son, Roger (Nena) McVay of Normal, Illinois; two daughters, Cindy (Dennis) Jurewicz of Peoria, Illinois and Debbie (Kevin) O’Shaughnessy of Manito, Illinois.; five grandchildren, Chelsie (Tyler Reese) Harkleroad, Heidi Harkleroad, Benjamin (Ashleigh) Harkleroad, Ariel Jurewicz and Anthony Jurewicz; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles McVay of Phoenix, Arizona, and Linnie McVay of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; three sisters, Melissia (Rev. Randy) Zinn of Bald Knob, Arkansas, Pearl (Kenny) Russell of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Cheri Shelton of Peoria, Illinois and several special nieces and nephews.
Sterling was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as an Instrument Mechanic at NRG Powerton Generating Station retiring in1994. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal fan, He enjoyed fishing, bike riding, traveling, and Elvis music. Sterling was a wonderful father and grandfather. He treasured his family, and loved time spent with them, especially his great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with his brother-in-law, Rev. Randy Zinn officiating.
Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Military Honors provided by the United States Army.

James Anthony (Tony) Gilooly, son of Cleo and Alma Gilooly was born on November 1, 1943, in Kennett, Missouri and was welcomed by his Lord and Saviour on February 17, 2022 at the age of 78.
Tony was a member of the National Guard when he was a young man. He ran a bakery route for Faye’s Bakery for 18 years. He also owned and worked on rental houses. Tony never met a stranger. He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kentucky Wildcats. He enjoyed vacationing in Branson and the Smokey Mountains. He liked watching old westerns, with Gunsmoke being one of his favorites. He was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ for 35 years.
On November 9, 1968, he was united in marriage to Peggy Beaird in Kennett, Missouri. Mrs. Gilooly survives of the home in Dexter.
Other than his wife, Peggy, he is survived by one son, Randy (Rachel) Gilooly of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; one daughter, Carla Gilooly of Byron Center, Michigan and one grandson, Colin (Hanna) Gilooly of Exeter, New Hampshire. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Flowers of Dexter, Missouri, Linda Gilooly of Bixby, Oklahoma and two nieces.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 2:30pm.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on February 20, 2022, at 2:30pm with Jim Faughn officiating.
Interment will follow in Dunklin Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Missouri.

Billie June Hunsaker of Dexter, Missouri, daughter of the late Lewis Lee and Daisy Ann (Baker) Edwards born on September 25, 1934 in Goodland, Indiana and passed away February 17, 2022 in Bernie, Missouri at the age of 87 years.
She lived in Dexter, Missouri for most of her life. She lived in Essex, Missouri in her younger years. She was a member of Assembly of First Church of God in Dexter, Missouri. She loved to sew, cook, read and write stories. she loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart.
Billie June married Larry Gene Hunsaker on February 28, 1952 until his passing on January 30, 2020.
Billie is survived by five sons Bobby Gene Hunsaker of Flint, Michigan, Danny Steven Hunsaker of West Plains, Missouri, Rickey Lee Hunsaker of Wappapello, Missouri, Jeffery (Pamela) Hunsaker of Heber Springs, Arkansas and Mark (Michele) Hunsaker of Perryville, Missouri; three daughters Charlotte Ann Hunsaker of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Brenda (Sunny) Alcoser of San Antonio, Texas and Lorie Jean Hunsaker of Jacksonville, Florida; twenty-nine grandchildren Tina, Christopher, Bobby, Kyle, Jason, Roxanne, Brad, Alex, Jennifer, Clara, Mary, Emily, Heath, Matthew, Megan, Amanda, Kristen, Rhe’a Connie Nic, Dalton Scott, April Diane, Brandon, Sam, Timothy, Sarah, Isaiah, Johnny, Natalie, Audrey and Jacob; twenty-eight great grandchildren Tristian, Matthew, Kaytlyn, Rylee, Bradley, John, Dexter, Simon, Oliver, Lane, Sebastian, Symphony, Vicktoria, Verrick, Misha, Brantley, Eli, Mya, Blaize, Paxton, Xavier, Trystan, Maliah, Laylen, Jazzlyn, Holt, Emersyn and Millie; two great great grandchildren Saylor and Bradlee; one brother Charles (Ann) Edwards of Bloomfield, Missouri . She is preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Daisy Edwards; her husband Larry Gene Hunsaker; one daughter Connie Darlene; one son Terry Wayne; three sisters Hazel, Pansy and Ruth; one brother Robert Edwards; and three grandchildren Daniel, Theresa and Hannah. A host of family and friends also survive.

Sharon R Strauser of Dexter, Missouri born on December 28, 1943 passed away on February 19, 2022 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 78 years.
She lived in Dexter, Missouri for most of her life. Sharon enjoyed to work outside planting flowers and raising cattle.
Sharon was married to Lendel Strauser on July 01, 1967 near Bloomfield, Missouri until his passing on May 05, 2016.
Sharon is survived by one sister and a very dear friend Betty Dugger. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lendel Strauser; and one son Denis Strauser. A host of family and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 22, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
