In Memory of Franklin James

Franklin James of Dexter, Missouri was born to Donald Morris and the late Mary Herbst on February 13, 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri and on November 05, 2021 in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 32 years.  

Frank had been a resident of Dexter, Missouri on and off his whole life.  He has also lived in St. Louis, Missouri. 

Surviving Franklin is his father Donald Lee Morris, one brother John Schatte of Maryville, Missouri; two sisters Maryann Morris of Dexter, Missouri and Natasha Schatte of Monett, Missouri; two cousins Tabitha Morris of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Terry Clark of Sikeston, Missouri; one nephew Elliott Morris. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Mary and one brother DJ Morris.  A host of family and friends also survive. 

Visitation will be held on Monday November 29, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

 Funeral services to be held on Monday November 29, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.  

Interment will be at a later date with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Donna Rae Young

Donna Rae Young daughter of the late Earl and Cleo Malin Wood was born on August 11, 1935 in Malden, Missouri and departed this life on November 23, 2021 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 86.

Mrs. Young was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dexter. She had operated a beauty shop and was also a homemaker. She loved helping at the different churches she had attended by teaching children’s Sunday school classes and playing the piano and organ. She also started the TOPS chapter in Dexter.

On October 10, 1955 she was united in marriage to Glenn Young in Hernando, Mississippi. Mr. Young survives of their home in Dexter.

Other then by her husband Glenn, she is survived by two daughters, Karen Robinson, and Ladon and husband Jeff Malloy both of Dexter; by one sister, Barbara Spitzer of Bernie; by four grandchildren, Michelle Malloy, Jeffery Malloy, Ryan Humphrey and James Robinson all of Dexter; and by five great-grandchildren, Seth Malloy, Austin Malloy, Jeffery Malloy, Melora McKay and Emelia Mckay all of Dexter.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Lindley and Elizabeth Ann Wood.

Visitation will be conducted on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from Noon until 2:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Ron Williams officiating.

Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In Memory of Larry Lee Crank

Larry Lee Crank of Puxico, Missouri was born to the late Norman and Wanda (Daly) Crank on December 02, 1946 in Poplar Bluff, and passed away on November 22, 2021 in Puxico, Missouri at the age of 74 years.

Larry was a resident at Puxico, Missouri most of his life. He attended Hobbs Chapel in his younger years. Larry was drafted into the United States Army on May 24, 1966 and served as a drill sergeant in Fort Leonard Wood Missouri during the Vietnam era. Larry will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his humor and fun-loving attitude, his love of the outdoors and his willingness to always help others. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, turkey hunting, gardening, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his four grandsons.

Larry was married to Shirley Elledge on December 31, 1967 in Puxico, Missouri. Surviving Larry is his wife Shirley; one son Jeff (Amy) Crank of Stilwell, Kansas; one daughter Lisa (Marty) Barnfield of Puxico, Missouri; four grandchildren Tyler Lee Crank of Stilwell, Kansas, Braden Wilson Crank of Stilwell, Kansas, Alec Martin Barnfield of Puxico, Missouri and Brody Lee Barnfield of Puxico, Missouri; one sister Deloris (Mike) of Wappapello, Missouri; two very close personal friends Don Denny and Carroll Elledge; two nephews Gary (Lynn) Braswell and Terry (Teresa) Braswell. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Wanda Crank; one grandson Cale Barnfield and one nephew Jimmy Braswell. A host of family and friends also survive.

The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Larry’s name.

Visitation will be held on Friday November 26, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Funeral services to be held on Friday November 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with full Military Honors at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel with Brother Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow in the Puxico City Cemetery with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Everly-Rose Hankins

Everly-Rose Hankins, beloved daughter of Scott and Jennie Hankins of Dexter, Missouri was born on February 11, 2021 in St. Louis, Missouri. Everly-Rose graced the world showing everyone she was a fighter defying the odds of Trisomy 18. Everly-Rose was a precious little angel, bringing hope, joy and happiness to everyone she touched throughout the nine months and nine days of her life. She went to be with our Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

In addition to her parents, Everly-Rose is survived by four big brothers, Carson Hankins, Connor Hankins, Brennan Hankins, and Tyler Hankins all of Dexter; by one big sister, Naomi Hankins of Dexter; by a host of aunts and uncles and loving extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 11:00 until 1:00 at the First Assembly of God Church in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. in the First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Alex Holloway officiating.

Interment will follow in the Smith Stevenson Cemetery near Dexter.

The family requests those attending the services to wear light blue to honor Everly-Rose and the awareness of trisomy 18. Ribbons will be available at the church as well.       

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: 4EverEverly account at the First Midwest Bank in Dexter, Sikeston, Jackson, or Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

In Memory of Bonnie Mae “Tess” Bomar

Bonnie Mae “Tess” Bomar, daughter of the late Cecil Ray Kilgo and Every Jewel Beasley Kilgo, was born on January 30, 1943, in Gideon, Missouri, and departed this life on November 20, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 78 years.

Mrs. Bomar was a former beautician in Malden, Missouri, a former checker for Wallace & Owens in Malden, a former inspector for Plastene in Portageville, Missouri, and a resident of Malden.

She is survived by her long-time companion, Glen Hurley of Malden, Missouri; by her daughter, Tonya Schultz and husband Richard of Dexter, Missouri; by her son, Michael Hurley of Memphis, Tennessee; by her brother, Sonny Ray Kilgo and wife Carmen of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and by a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. James Hamlett officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie is assisting with arrangements.
