In Memory of Clint Robert Montgomery

Clint Robert Montgomery, son of Barbara Mason Montgomery of Dexter, Missouri and the late Philip Montgomery was born on April 22, 1968 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on June 25, 2021 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 53.

Mr. Montgomery was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the 82nd Airborne Division during Operation Desert Storm. He had worked at PAR IV Farms and was a 1986 graduate of Dexter Senior High School. He had attended the Lighthouse Christian Center and was a resident of Dexter.

Other then by his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Leah Davis and husband Tim of Texas; by two brothers, Wesley Montgomery of Dexter, and Kevin Brents and wife Deana of Dudley, Missouri; by two sisters, Ramona Mason and husband Terry of Dexter, and Tammy Kanavel of Front Royal, Virginia; and by a special friend, Jackie Rinck of Dexter.

Visitation will be conducted on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021 in the Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Alice Marie (Johnson) Barr

Alice Marie (Johnson) Barr, 86, passed away June 27, 2021, in Jackson, MO. 

Alice was born December 10, 1934, in Fair Oaks, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Myrtle Johnson.

On March 13,1954, Alice married Carl Ray Barr. She started her work life picking cotton, and later worked in various factories, retiring from Inland Shoe.  As a homemaker, she stayed busy cooking, canning, and crocheting. In her later years, she discovered new interests, including reading, social media, and parasailing. 

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Carl; infant daughter Catherine Mary; siblings Edward, Lois, Arley, Harley, Ernest, Wilma, Ruby, Patsy, and Carol; and two grandchildren. 

She is survived by her sons Richard (Tina) Barr, Jackson, MO; Mark (Sandra) Barr, Jackson, MO; Paul (Tressa) Barr, Advance, MO; her daughters Carla (Billy) Robinson, Advance, MO; Patricia (Mike) Baker, Millersville, MO; and Kimberly (Brad) Fowler, St. Joseph, MO; her brothers Charles, Benjamin, and Michael; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She enjoyed her 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. 

Her ready ear and loving heart will be dearly missed.

The visitation will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.

Arrangements are under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, MO.

In Memory of Bobbie Gene Jackson

Bobbie Gene Jackson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri formerly of Bloomfield, Missouri was born to the late John Franklin and Mammie Evelyn Carrol Jackson on November 11, 1939 in Anniston, Missouri and passed away on June 21, 2021 in the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Bobbie had been a resident of  California for years and moved to Stoddard County, Missouri where he was a resident of Bloomfield for 75 years before going to the Missouri Veteran's Home. He worked as a superintendent for Bellding Wallbridge Company, he was a lifetime Eagles, Elks, Masonic VFW member and amvets, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and BBQ for his family and friends.

Bobbie remarried Dolly Dimple Dunning on June 13, 2015 in Dexter, Missouri and she precedes him in death on July 3, 2015. 

Surviving him are his daughters Melissa Lewis of Spokane, Washington and Monica Williamson of  Dudley, Missouri; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two sisters Carrie Sue (Jackson) Esparza, Bethalto, Illinois, Doris L. (Jackson) Esparze, St. Louis, Missouri, many nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Dolly, four brothers Oliver, Cletus, Charlie, Billy Jackson; one sister Georgia Jackson Kokumboo; daughter Starla Kay Mairs, and three daughters in infancy  Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 28, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

In Memory of Randy Oliver Sr.

Randy Oliver Sr. of Bloomfield, Missouri was born to the late Sylvester Sterling Oliver and Pauline Gail Fairchild Oliver on July 31, 1954 in Dexter, Missouri and passed away on June 22, 2021 in Landmark Hospital Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Randy had been a resident of Stoddard County, Missouri all his life. He worked for Tyson's for years, he loved to fish, hunt, his corvette, and being outside.

Randy married the love of his life Kathy Marie McDonald in Dexter, Missouri on February 19, 1972.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Oliver of Bloomfield, Missouri; two sons Randy Allen Oliver Jr. and Jason Oliver both of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter Robin Polley of Dexter, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters Kim Clifton of Marble Hill, Missouri and Kathy Williams of Scott City, Missouri.  A host of family and  friends also survive. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Sylvester Oliver, one sister Janet Oliver in infancy, and one granddaughter Emily Oliver. A host of family and  friends also survive.

Memorial visitation will be held on Monday June 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Memorial service will be held on Monday at 12:00 pm at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

In Memory of Ann Worley,

Ann Worley, the daughter of the late Walter Norrid and Ethel Rievley Norrid was born on August 12, 1933, in Mingo, Missouri and departed this life on June 22, 2021 at the Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 87.

Ann was a resident of Dexter since 1950, and a graduate of Dexter High School. Ann worked as a bookkeeper for Worley Implement Company for 15 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter and was also a member of P.E.O.

On July 12, 1951, she was united in marriage to Charles L. Worley in Dexter, Missouri. Mr. Worley preceded her in death on December 27, 1989.

She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Ann Bracey and husband Michael Bracey of Portageville, Missouri, and Kay Martin and husband Doug Martin of O’Fallon, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Thomas Bracey, Lauren Schick (Joseph), Courtney Martin, Ben Martin; and by one great-grandchild, Noah Bracey.

Other than by her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob R. Norrid and Mack Dwight Norrid, and by a special friend Leroy Green.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, June 21, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Terry Lippstreu officiating. Interment will follow in Dexter Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Stoddard County Children’s Home, P.O. Box 164 Dexter Missouri 63841. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.
