Beulah Marie James Timberlake, daughter of the late William Lunsford and Cara Marie Jordan Lunsford Jones, was born in Advance, Missouri on January 3, 1932 and departed this life at her residence in Bernie, Missouri on October 4, 2020 at the age of 88.
Mrs. Timberlake was a homemaker and a member of River of Life Church in Dexter, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Lester James on March 13, 1950, Mr. James preceded his wife in death on April 11, 2014. She was united in marriage to Clyde Richard Timberlake on November 26, 2016, Mr. Timberlake preceded his wife on November 8, 2019.
Other survivors include two sons, Danny James & Jayne of Dexter, Missouri and LeRoy James & Ange of Kansas City, Missouri; by three daughters, Beverly Lintz & Connie of Bernie, Missouri, Debbie Jones of Jefferson City, Missouri and Allison Williams & Stephen Wayne of Bernie, Missouri; also by several grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husbands, by four brothers, Eugene Lunsford, Doyle Lunsford, W.D. Lunsford and JR. Lunford.
Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:45 A.M.
Graveside services will be conducted in the Bernie Cemetery on Thursday, October 8, 2020 starting at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Bill Pennington officiating.

MSG Loyd V. Garner, son of the late Robert A Garner and Cora Lee DeArman Garner was born on December 7, 1935 at the family farm between Pyletown and Dexter, Missouri. He was a victim of the Covid 19 pandemic, and lost his fight with this terrible disease at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, MO on September 29, 2020. He was surrounded by medical professionals, other veterans, the wonderful home staff, and his loving wife, Linda Wright Garner, was holding his hand. He made the comment, he had a good woman. Their patients are not alone. Let your heart be comforted, because those risking their lives love them, too. His daughter, Janet Garner Guethle, and son-in-law, Francis Guethle live in the middle of his hay field. They will miss him greatly.
Mr. Garner was a Veteran of the Missouri National Guard. He started his career in 1954, at the age of 18, as a weekend warrior with a unit that would one day become his beloved 1221st Transportation company. He was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ. He worked for C R Trotter, as a senior in high school. He graduated in 1954 from Dexter Senior High. He became a registered land surveyor, and co-owner of Trotter Associates. He served as state President of Missouri Association of Registered Land Surveyors. He enlisted full time in the MO National Guard in 1985. He went to Jefferson City for a year, and was promoted to E8. A new unit was formed, HQ 4th Combat Support Battalion Main, in Poplar Bluff. He served as operations sergeant until his retirement at age 60 in 1995. No doubt he would have stayed in if there hadn’t been an age requirement.
Mr. Garner was from a family of 13 children. He is survived by Robert D Garner, Marvin A Garner, and Maxine Gillis. He was preceded in death by brothers Lester, Ivan, Hubert, Chester, Larry, and Lewis Garner. He was preceded in death by sisters, Myrl Cook, Emma Stallion, and Norma Grubbs.
Uncle Loyd was grandfather in spirit to many many children. Just ask his fishing buddies at his pond. They were all his family. This was not just Garners, there are Wrights, Kelleys, Grubbs, Menleys, Gillis, Davis, Stallion, Cook, Williams, and many other branches of his family tree. You didn’t have to grow on his tree from the roots, he just grafted you on.
Loyd was the person who didn’t tell you he was there if you needed something. That’s right. He was the guy who got his tools, tractor, truck, food, or money and showed up at your door to fix it. You took it to Loyd, and he fixed it for you. Even with Parkinson’s he had a need to do something for someone. Whether it was getting a plate for you at the reunion, or pushing your child on a ride on his walker.
Bob Garner would ask Loyd to come help “the children”. Loyd never talked about it much. They were doing volunteer work and donating things to the Children’s Home, Inc. which is home based in Paragould, AR. They have a farm program that provides healing therapy to families. This includes fishing, gardening, cattle, horse therapy, and other farm related activities. He was also a big supporter of the Garner Family annual reunion at the Bootheel Youth Camp. For over 30 years he was one of the first ones at camp to get it ready. His greatest hope was that this tradition continued. The July Reunion was cancelled because of the Pandemic. I’m not sure he knew this. It would break his heart. Please continue to carry on his traditions at the family reunion. Grafted tree branches are welcome, also.
Covid-19 is airborne, and transferred person to person. In his honor, please protect yourself and others from giving it a host. If you had been on a Covid medical ward, you would know to take this very seriously.
Funeral services will be conducted at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Jeremy Tucker officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with full military honors.

Ann Carol Messer, daughter of the late Glenn Ellis Mauldin and Zerah Lee Harmon Mauldin, was born on November 7, 1941 and departed this life on October 1, 2020 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 78 years.
Mrs. Messer was a former employee of Federal Mogul in Malden, Missouri, working as a piston inspector. She attended the Bernie Nazarene Church and she was a resident of Bernie, Missouri.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Fulkerson of Bella Vista, Arkansas; by her sister, Ruthie Smith of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by two grandchildren, Lindsey Henry and Ty Murray; and by six great-grandchildren, Arianna Murray, Alexis Murray, Noah Murray, October Fields, Bentley Samuels, and Hailey Wolfe.
Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam Mauldin and Loyee Mauldin; by her sister, Glenda Mays; and by her grandson, Jason Wolfe.

Delois Gales, daughter of the late Curtis Eskew and Eva Martin Eskew, was born on October 23, 1932 in Bloomfield, Missouri, and departed this life on September 30, 2020 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 87 years.
Mrs. Gales was a former employee of Dexter Memorial Hospital and Central Gardens, working as a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of Risen Church in Dexter.
On November 26, 1959, in Dexter, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Vernon Gales. Mr. Gales preceded her in death on August 29, 1994
She is survived by her son, Danny Gales of Dexter; by her daughter, Debbie Whitehead and husband Tim of Dexter; by her brother, Butch Eskew of Bloomfield; by her sister, Rita DePriest of Kennett; by two grandchildren, Matthew Whitehead and Heather Dunning and husband Dustin; and by two great-grandchildren, Aiden Sanders and Ellie Dunning.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Eskew and Dean Eskew; and by two sisters, Pauline Griffy and Jo Ann Pettibone.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Roth officiating.
Interment will follow in Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter.

Charles J. Fulford, son of the late Willie C. Fulford and Flora F. Hoppis Fulford was born on April 17, 1936 in Pottsville, Arkansas, and departed this life on September 25, 2020 at Southeast Health of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 84 years.
Mr. Fulford was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a barber and owned Chuck’s Pro Mark in Dexter for many years. He was a member of the Dudley Community Church in Dudley. He was previously a minister ordained through the Assembly of God Church.
In 1958, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Barbara McGuire. Mrs. Fulford preceded him in death on June 17, 2019.
He is survived by a son, Charles J. Fulford, Jr. & his wife Teresa of Cape Girardeau; by two daughters, Wendy Ray & her husband Terry of Poplar Bluff and Stephani Underwood & her husband Trint of Dexter; by two sisters, Willa Dean Harp of Doniphan, Missouri and Sue Hughes of Russellville, Arkansas; and by eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Other than by his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Jesse and Jeremy Fulford; brother, Jimmy Don Fulford and by his two sisters, Imogene Hughes and Shirley Pickens.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, October 5, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m with Rev. Lynn Ash officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
Due to our love of his church family we are opting to not have a dinner gathering after the funeral so that they are kept safe and well. Family is requesting that all attendees wear masks. Family ask that all are understanding with their wishes to avoid handshakes and hugs in an effort to prevent others from being subjected to the same sorrow as they have been.
