Hollas S. Montgomery, son of the late John S. Montgomery and Paralie King Montgomery, was born on November 11, 1921 in Bernie, Missouri and departed this life on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 97 years.
Mr. Montgomery was a retired farmer and a resident of Dexter. He was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter. He was a fixture at auctions in Southeast Missouri, attending them all the way into his nineties.
He was first united in marriage to Kathryn Kimbrel on November 21, 1943; she preceded him in death on October 25, 1994. He was then united in marriage to Darlene Reed on January 1, 2001; she preceded him in death in April of 2018.
He is survived by his son, Carroll Montgomery and wife Etheleen of Dexter, Missouri; by three daughters, Sharon Helfrich and husband Eugene of Columbia, Illinois, Joyce Thompson of Summerfield, Florida and by Sherry Montgomery of Dexter, Missouri; by two brothers, Bill Montgomery of West Paducah, Kentucky and Sam Montgomery of Dexter, Missouri; by one sister, JoAnn Golden of Malden, Missouri; by nine grandchildren, Keith Montgomery, Kara Lummukka, Nickolas Helfrich, Hannah Neibling, Jami Thompson, Jace Thompson, Kelly Hutson, Tyler Montgomery and Jordan Thurman and by fifteen great-grandchildren.
Besides his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Terry Scott Montgomery, by six brothers, Jerry Dean Montgomery, Garfield Montgomery, Leon Montgomery, Bob Montgomery, Paul Montgomery and Breman Montgomery; by one sister, Lola Young; by one granddaughter, Shelly Montgomery and by one great-granddaughter, Anna Montgomery.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Steve Tippen officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Vickie I. Moore, daughter of the late William Massey and Edith Henley Massey, was born on March 11, 1949 in Meridian, Mississippi and departed this life on Monday, August 5, 2019 at her residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 70 years.
Mrs. Moore was a former production line supervisor for Starting USA in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by two sons, Jeff McGinnis and Brandon McGinnis, both of Dexter, Missouri; by two brothers, Larry Massey of Advance, Missouri and John Massey of Bloomfield, Missouri; by her sister, Phillis King of Dexter, Missouri; and by four grandchildren.

A memorial service will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Eric Eugene Smith, son of Gene and Gail Smith, was born on December 20, 1964 in Santa Ana, CA and departed this life on August 5, 2019 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 54.
Mr. Smith was a Marine Veteran and worked at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff; he had a great love and loyalty to his family, his country and his woodworking.
He was united in marriage to Janet Sadler Smith on February 12, 2000 in Dexter, Mrs. Smith survives in their home in Dexter.
In addition to his wife Janet, he is survived by his son, Eric Shane Hendrix of Dexter, his granddaughter, Alexis Christian of Colorado Springs, CO; by two grandsons, RJ Phillips of St. Louis, and Nicholas Phillips of Dexter; by his great-grandson, James Gabriel “Waya” of Colorado Springs, CO; by his parents, Gene and Gail Smith of Bloomfield, by his mother-in-law, Carzenia Sadler of Dexter; by three brothers, Cean Smith and wife Tina of Republic, MO, Richard “Pete” Smith of Dexter, and Chris Smith and wife Christine of Celina, TN; by two sisters, Jamie Smith-Mays and husband Eddie of Bloomfield, and Trisha Smith-Sprouse and husband Dave of Springfield, MO; by nine nephews and seven nieces, Chelsea Woodruff and husband Kenneth, Cean K. Smith, Keely Smith and fiancé Zack, Merena Smith and husband Shae, Marley Francis, Ricky Bowers, Kenny Smith, Kelli Smith and fiancé Zane, Aaron Mays and wife Kelsie, Alexis and Austin Sprouse; and by nine great nieces and two great nephews, Henley Woodruff, Gracie and Ana Gee, Colt Smith, Tessa Smith, Charlie Rose, Jaxon Parsons and Madelynn, Raylyn, Jayden and Jentry Mays. He also had many more family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gabriel Ryan Sweeney of Dexter; and by his grandparents, Gale & Gladys Williams of Cabool, MO and Paul & Ana Smith of Iola, KS.
A memorial service, with full Military Honors, will be conducted at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield on August 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Mickey Goodwin officiating.

Sharon Lapwing Walker, daughter of the late Stanley Lapwing and Eleanor Ropacewicz Lapwing, was born on November 24, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois and departed this life on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at her residence in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 71 years.
Mrs. Walker was a former Registered Nurse for the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
On December 24, 1985, in Niles, Illinois, she was united in marriage to Denzel Franklin Walker. Mr. Walker preceded her in death on November 11, 1992.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria Patterson and husband David of Bloomfield, Missouri; by her son, Edward Kasper of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and by two grandchildren, Nicholas Gossard and EmilyAnn Myers of Dexter, Missouri.

Ronald Bert Weathers, son of the late Albert Weathers and Edith Delay Rooker, was born on March 11, 1962 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at his residence in Dexter.
Mr. Weathers was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a tree trimmer and landscaper. He attended Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter.
He is survived by two sons, Ron Weathers Jr. and Jessie Weathers, both of Dexter; by two brothers, Adam Weathers and William Weathers, both of Dexter; by two sisters, Janice Sullivan and Teresa Bright, both of Dexter; and by his granddaughter, Amirah Weathers.
