Alma L. Lewis of Bloomfield, daughter of the late James and Beulah Fulkerson, was born in Bloomfield, Missouri on May 27, 1923, and passed away at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri on May 24, 2019, at the age of 95 years.

She had lived in Bloomfield most of her life. She had worked at Elder's Manufacturing, the Bloomfield Water Department and was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.

On October 10, 1996, she married Wayne Lewis in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Surviving are one daughter, Peggy Hunt of Scottsville, Kentucky; two sons, Larie Burdine of Idalia, Tony Burdine of Bloomfield; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Beulah Eaton and Dorothy Gillespie both of Bloomfield. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Pearcy; three brothers, Glenn, James H. and James W. Fulkerson; two sisters, Opal Wilson and Pearl Stone.

Friends may visit on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri, services to follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ronnie Stevens of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Naomi Ruth Mouser, daughter of the late James Elijah Lawson and Hattie Marie Alberson Lawson, was born on March 11, 1933 in Canalou, Missouri and departed this life on May 21, 2019 at her home in Essex, Missouri, surrounded by her family, at the age of 86 years.

Mrs. Mouser was a life-long member of Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex.  She was a former employee of Elder Manufacturing and later she opened Ruth’s Place in Essex, which she owned and operated for a number of years. 

On February 18, 1956, in Hernando, Mississippi, she was united in marriage to Glen Dale Mouser.  Mr. Mouser preceded her in death on March 30, 2013.

She is survived by her son, Gale Jordan of Dexter, Missouri; by two daughters, Brenda Wilson and her husband Kurt of Evans, Georgia and Kim King of Essex, Missouri; by ten grandchildren, Kristy Hamlin, Amy Ash, Gale Jordan Jr., Ryan Mouser, Derek Wilson, Ashley Sandusky, Justin Hare, Amanda King, Tyler Wilson, and Trey Wilson; and by fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Dale Mouser and Robert Glen Jordan; by three brothers, Virgil Lawson, Jim Lawson and Gary Lawson, in infancy; and by four sisters, Doris Clark, Louella Baird, Treva Porter and Charlene Black.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Russell and Rev. Dale Jones officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.

Janis Kay Herrington, daughter of the late, Harry Minney and Eula Ellawee Smiley Minney, was born in Dexter, Missouri on December 5, 1950 and departed this life at her daughters residence in Malden, Missouri on May 22, 2019 at the age of 68.

Ms. Herrington had been a hairdresser and a homemaker.  She was of Pentecostal Faith.

Survivors include, two daughters, Jacki Ross & husband Jon, Jan McClain & husband Ronnie all of Malden, Missouri; by two brothers, Gary Minnie of the State of Virginia and Tim Smiley of Malden, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Jonathan Ross Jr. & wife Maci, Jacob Ross & wife Destiny, Mattie Ross, Sommer McClain, Autumn McClain and R.J. McClain; by two great-grandchildren, Jace and Carter; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents, by one brother, Rusty Adams.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 12:00 P.M. On Tuesday May 28, 2019 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sam Pulley officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

Juanita Bryant, daughter of the late Earnest Steele and Lela Marvel Steele, was born on April 28, 1925 in Hartman, Arkansas and departed this life on May 19, 2019 in Danville, Arkansas at the age of 94 years.

Mrs. Bryant was a former laborer for Dukane Electronics in St. Charles, Illinois.

On November 27, 1942, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was first united in marriage to Carnie Norman.  Mr. Norman preceded her in death on August 15, 1985.  On July 1, 1989, in Bernie, Missouri, she was then united marriage to Berbage Bryant.  Mr. Bryant preceded her in death on January 5, 2015.

She is survived by her daughter, Markie Lynn Farnham of Baring Plt, Maine; by her brother, James Steele of Russellville, Arkansas; by five grandchildren, Aleea Farnham, Thomas Farnham, LaDonna Gard, Trinka Adkisson and Charlotte Smith; by six great-grandchildren, Lucy Lee, Haley, Morgan, Nolan, Nicolas and Nate; and by one-great-grandchild, Sage.

Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Steele, Reginald Steele and Leon Steele and by her sister, Imogene Davis.

Brenda Kay McGowan, daughter of T.B. Harrison and Glendola Pratt Harrison was born in Kokoma, Indiana on June 20, 1953 and departed this life in the ER room of Southeast Healthcare of Stoddard County, Dexter, Missouri on May 20, 2019 at the age of 65.

Mrs. McGowan had been a Loan Officer at First State Community Bank of Malden, Missouri for over 20 Years, she was a homemaker and was of Baptist Faith.

She was united in marriage to Jan McGowan in Rural Campbell, Missouri on March 11, 2017.

Survivors include her husband, Jan McGowan of Bernie, Missouri; by one son, Joe Blume & wife Destiny of Jefferson City, Missouri; by two step-sons, Jeremy McGowan & Myra of Bernie, Missouri and Josh McGowan & Tara of Portageville, Missouri; by one brother, Roger Harrison & wife Debra of Nashville, Tennessee; by two sisters, Francis Campbell & husband Virgil of Oglesville, Missouri and Glenda Faye Riddle of Lake Wappapello, Missouri; by seven grandchildren, Mary Grace and Shyla, Jaden and Mallory, Hailey, Karsten and Oakleigh; also by other relatives and friends.
