In Memory of Brenda Kay McGowan

Brenda Kay McGowan, daughter of T.B. Harrison and Glendola Pratt Harrison was born in Kokoma, Indiana on June 20, 1953 and departed this life in the ER room of Southeast Healthcare of Stoddard County, Dexter, Missouri on May 20, 2019 at the age of 65.
Mrs. McGowan had been a Loan Officer at First State Community Bank of Malden, Missouri for over 20 Years, she was a homemaker and was of Baptist Faith.
She was united in marriage to Jan McGowan in Rural Campbell, Missouri on March 11, 2017.
Survivors include her husband, Jan McGowan of Bernie, Missouri; by one son, Joe Blume & wife Destiny of Jefferson City, Missouri; by two step-sons, Jeremy McGowan & Myra of Bernie, Missouri and Josh McGowan & Tara of Portageville, Missouri; by one brother, Roger Harrison & wife Debra of Nashville, Tennessee; by two sisters, Francis Campbell & husband Virgil of Oglesville, Missouri and Glenda Faye Riddle of Lake Wappapello, Missouri; by seven grandchildren, Mary Grace and Shyla, Jaden and Mallory, Hailey, Karsten and Oakleigh; also by other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 P.M.
Funeral services will then be conducted at 4:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie.

In Memory of Irma Lea Stephens Jackson

Irma Lea Stephens Jackson, daughter of the late Thomas Joel Stephens and Iva Mae Evans Stephens, was born on August 25, 1929 in Bloomfield, Missouri and departed this life on May 19, 2019 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 89 years.
Mrs. Jackson lived in the Aid community, she was a homemaker and worked on the family farm with her husband Gene. She was a long-time member of Liberty Hill General Baptist Church in Aid and was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Dexter. Mrs. Jackson enjoyed sewing and working with children. She was a Sunday school teacher, taught during vacation bible school and was a girl scout leader for several years. She and Mr. Jackson enjoyed traveling, especially after retiring.
On July 21, 1945, in Bloomfield, Missouri, she was united in marriage to August Gene Jackson. Mr. Jackson survives of their home.
In addition to her husband, Gene, she is survived by two daughters, Martha Hughes and husband Joe of Jefferson City, Missouri and Joyce Kinder and husband Steve of Dexter, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Matthew Kinder and wife Sally of Dexter, Missouri, Leslie Pyle and husband Joe of Dexter, Missouri, Marianne Hughes of Jefferson City, Missouri and Melissa Hughes of Wardsville, Missouri; and by nine great-grandchildren, Hannah Whitten and husband Pierson of Wardsville, Missouri, Peyton Luebbering of Wardsville, Missouri, James and Ava Faulconer of Jefferson City, Missouri, Emily, Katie and Lucy Pyle of Dexter, Missouri, and Rachel and Rebekah Kinder of Dexter, Missouri.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Price and Edna Honey and by one brother, Thomas “Bud” J. Stephens, Jr.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Terryl Almond officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.

In Memory of Verbia Finch

Verbia Finch, daughter of the late Martin Chambers and Pauline Oliver Chambers, was born on February 24, 1946 in Dudley, Missouri and departed this life on May 18, 2019 at her residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 73 years.
Mrs. Finch was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter, Missouri.
On November 22, 1964, in Dudley, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Bobby Gene Finch. Mr. Finch preceded her in death on August 3, 2014.
She is survived by her son, Bobby Eugene Finch of Bloomfield, Missouri; by her daughter, Verbia Lee Parker of Dexter, Missouri; by her brother Thomas Wall of Augusta, Missouri; by two sisters, Martha Ann Short of Augusta, Missouri and Janis Napier of Marthasville, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Daniel Finch, Bobbi Ann Finch and David Saylors; and by four great-grandchildren, Gauge Saylors, Liberty Saylors, Bryer Saylors and Wyatt Saylors.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Longhibler; by her grandson, David Finch; by two brothers, Norman “Buddy” Wall and William “Pat” Wall; and by her sister, Wanda Louis Wall.

In Memory of Dolores Gayle

Dolores Gayle, daughter of the late Estes E. and Hannah Isbell O’Keeffe, was born Dolores Anita O’Keeffe on July 25, 1931 in Ranger, Texas and departed this life at her home in Dexter Missouri on May 17, 2019 at the age of 87 years.
Dolores moved from Ranger to Denver City, Texas in 1939 where she attended Denver City schools until she graduated in May 1948. She was united in marriage to Ed Gayle on May 18, 1948 in Denver City, Texas. In June of 1950, Ed and Dolores put in Gayle’s Jewelry and ran it till they retired in 1994. In 2003, they moved to Dexter, Missouri, where they were members of the First Baptist Church. Dolores was also a member of Church Women United, Heartland Quilters Guild and The Golden Age Club.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Howard and DeVonna Gayle of Eastland Texas; by one daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Jay Lemons of Dexter, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Chawnda Branscome, Dustin Patterson, Joshua Gayle and Kristyn Hartmann; by six great-grandchildren, Logan Gatlin, Skye Patterson, Madilyn Patterson, Mark Gayle, Brendon Gayle and Audrey Gayle; by one great-great-granddaughter Macie Grace Gatlin and by one sister Bessie Causey of Snyder, Texas.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ed in 2011; by her son Mark Gayle in 1982 and by her sister, Annie Pearl O’Keeffe.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. with Wendell Minson and Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Denver City Memorial Cemetery in Denver City, Texas.

In Memory of Dennis James Coggins

Dennis James Coggins was born on February 19, 1963 and departed this life on December 6, 2018 at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 17 days. He was the youngest child of eight, born to Norma “Barks” Coggins and Willie Coggins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents Roy and Emma Barks, his maternal great grandmother Neely Crites, one sister Patsy Sue Coggins, one nephew Thomas Clifton Coggins, and one brother-in-law, Kenneth Miller
He leaves behind two brothers: Tommy (and Rita) Coggins of Florida, and Glen (and Debbie) Coggins of Bloomfield; four sisters: Donna Miller of Alabama, Judith Coggins of Dexter, Kay (and Jim) Coffey of Cape Girardeau, and Peggy (and David) Currie of Dexter, two nieces: Rebecca Horsley and Rachel Coffey; four nephews: Jim Currie, Michael Currie, Brian Coggins, and Bobby Coffey; three great nieces: Maddilyn and Brynlee Coggins, and Michalie Currie; two great nephews: Braxton Coggins and Michael Currie Jr; and a host of other friends and relatives.
There was a graveside memorial service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday May 26th, 2019 at Cross Roads Church near Lowndes, MO. Reverend Frank Radford will officiate and special singing will be provided by the Skaggs Family. Church service and dinner following. Everyone is invited.
Rest In Peace Little Brother. You will forever be remembered and never forgotten!
