In Memory of Irma Lea Stephens Jackson
Irma Lea Stephens Jackson, daughter of the late Thomas Joel Stephens and Iva Mae Evans Stephens, was born on August 25, 1929 in Bloomfield, Missouri and departed this life on May 19, 2019 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 89 years.

Mrs. Jackson lived in the Aid community, she was a homemaker and worked on the family farm with her husband Gene.  She was a long-time member of Liberty Hill General Baptist Church in Aid and was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Dexter.  Mrs. Jackson enjoyed sewing and working with children.  She was a Sunday school teacher, taught during vacation bible school and was a girl scout leader for several years.  She and Mr. Jackson enjoyed traveling, especially after retiring.

On July 21, 1945, in Bloomfield, Missouri, she was united in marriage to August Gene Jackson.  Mr. Jackson survives of their home.

In addition to her husband, Gene, she is survived by two daughters, Martha Hughes and husband Joe of Jefferson City, Missouri and Joyce Kinder and husband Steve of Dexter, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Matthew Kinder and wife Sally of Dexter, Missouri, Leslie Pyle and husband Joe of Dexter, Missouri, Marianne Hughes of Jefferson City, Missouri and Melissa Hughes of Wardsville, Missouri; and by nine great-grandchildren, Hannah Whitten and husband Pierson of Wardsville, Missouri, Peyton Luebbering of Wardsville, Missouri, James and Ava Faulconer of Jefferson City, Missouri, Emily, Katie and Lucy Pyle of Dexter, Missouri, and Rachel and Rebekah Kinder of Dexter, Missouri.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Price and Edna Honey and by one brother, Thomas “Bud” J. Stephens, Jr.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Terryl Almond officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
