In Memory of Christine Busick
Christine Busick, 68, of Malden, was born on September 11, 1950 in Malden, Missouri to the late Farrel Jake Busick and Clara Harvey Busick. She departed this life on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Ridgeview Living Community in Malden, Missouri. 

Christine Busick was a computer technician for Southwestern Bell and she was a member of the Stokelan Drive Christian Church in Malden.

Her survivors include, Brother: Kenny Busick of Memphis, Tennessee and Sister: Karen Haley & husband, Bobby of Malden.; Great nephew: Nolen Haley of Parma.; Aunt: Barbara Crawford of St. Louis and Uncle: Don Bowman & wife, Lana of Florida; Nephew: Justin Haley & wife, Brandi of Parma. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden from 2-3 P.M.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Dan Hargrave officiating.

Interment will be in the Rosewood 1st Addition Cemetery in Malden.

Landess Funeral Home of Malden is in charge of the arrangements.

In Memory of Marilyn Ann Tuley
Marilyn Ann Tuley, daughter of the late Francis Carl Dodd and Mary Catherine (Hart) Dodd was born May 8, 1932, in St. Louis, MO, and received her heavenly healing at her residence in Dexter, MO, on January 2, 2019, at the age of 86.

Marilyn lived her life for the service of others.  She was a devoted member of Sadlers Chapel Methodist Church near Dexter where she served in countless capacities, a member of Church Women United, and secretary of the Sadlers Chapel Cemetery Board.  She retired from Southwestern Bell (AT&T) and co-owner of Tuley Farm and Home in Dexter. 

She married Everett Tuley on August 30, 1952, at Palmyra, MO, and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2001.  

Mrs. Tuley is survived by her four children:  C.E. Tuley and his wife, Mickey; Karen Stevens and her husband, Tony; Nancy Mayer and her husband, Rob; and Robert Tuley and his wife, Karen, from Shelbina, MO.  She is lovingly remembered by her eleven grandchildren: Jennifer (Josh) Smith; Cory (Jaime) Stevens; Derek (Deana) Stevens; Benjamin (Sydney) Stevens; Jason (Lauren) Mayer; Dustin (Ashley) Mayer; Daniel (Morgan) Mayer; Nathan (Amy) Tuley; Stephanie (Matt) Richards; Catherine (Ramon) Spurlock; Rebecca Tuley; and by twenty great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are her six brothers: Tom, Richard, Gene, Bill, Bobby, and David Dodd; and four sisters: Jeanette Baca, Doris Nichols, Janice Shaw, and Joyce Stevens. 

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son in infancy, George Paul Tuley; one granddaughter, Joanna Lee Tuley; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pat Drebenstedt. 

Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Rainey Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2019 in the Rainey Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Fowler officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Sadlers Chapel Cemetery near Dexter.

Memorials may be made to the Sadlers Chapel United Methodist Church or the Sadlers Chapel Cemetery in Dexter.

In Memory of Jimmie G. Lawrence
Jimmie G. Lawrence, son of the late John H. Lawrence and Chloe Robling Lawrence was born on June 23, 1934 in Gray Ridge, Missouri and departed this life on January 1, 2019 at the Missouri State Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 84 years.

Mr. Lawrence was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter.  He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.  He served as Superintendent for the Richland School District for many years and was a respected member of the Community.  He enjoyed hunting, working in his yard and after his retirement in education, working with his son at the North Ridge Veterinary Clinic in Sikeston.

On March 27, 1955, he was united in marriage to Linda Faye Parks in Gray Ridge, Missouri.  Linda preceded him in death on August 25, 2011.

Survivors include:  one son, Jeffery H. Lawrence and wife Dianne of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one sister, June Mathis and husband Vernon of Dexter, Missouri; by two grandchildren, Kelsey Dianne Gibson and husband Dane and Sarah Elliott Lawrence; by many other relatives and friends.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 4:30 PM. 

Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Greg Mathis officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Home, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.

In Memory of Billy Edward Rhodes Jr
Billy Edward Rhodes Jr., 64, died Dec. 26, 2018, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. 

Born Aug. 4, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late Bill and Jean Requerth Rhodes, he was a 1972 graduate of Advance High School. He then attended Murray State University and was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. He owned and operated Rhodes Gas in Advance, Dexter and Bloomfield from 1979 to 2004. 

Survivors include: his wife, Monica Rhodes; daughter, Leeanna Rhodes of Jackson; son, Billy (Mollie) Rhodes III of Perryville; sister, Kathy Rhodes of Jackson; and two granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Rhodes Winchester.

Visitation was held at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with the Rev. Charles Woodard and the Rev. Dale Wiseman officiating. 

Burial will be held at a later date at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance.

In Memory of Charles
Charles "Pete" Felker of Dexter, son of the late Wesley and Fannie Mae Stewart Felker, was born in Keiser, Arkansas on April 20, 1941, and passed away at the Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on December 28, 2018, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 8 days.

Charles had lived in Dexter & Southeast Missouri most of his life. He had served as Baseball Commissioner for the Dexter Youth Leagues and also served as the Babe Ruth Commissioner. He had been a Boy Scout leader and was a member of the V.F.W, the AMVETS and the American Legion. In 1983 Charles received the Jefferson Award from the American Institute for Public Service. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy.

On December 23, 1959, he was married to Barbara J. Fletcher in Essex, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 23, 2016.

Surviving are three daughters, Diane (Randy) Graves, Lisa (Brian) Walker all of Dexter, Betty (Wes) Fitzpatrick of Jackson; two sons, Steve (Lisa) Felker of Dexter, Jerry (Sharon) Richey of Georgetown, Texas; six granddaughters, four grandsons; seven great granddaughters; and five great grandsons. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tayler Felker; and one sister, Betty Jean Felker.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
