In Memory of Denise Gill
Denise Gill (née Peters), 73 of Puxico died Thursday December 13,2018 in the Saint Francis Hospital In Cape Girardeau. 

She is survived by one brother, Dallas Peters of Dexter; two sisters, Alice Latham of Sikeston, Missouri and Sheila Johnson of Colorado; and 6 grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Stella Peters, and one brother Ronald Peters. 

Visitation will begin on Monday December 17, 2018 at 6 P.M. in the Morgan Sifford Funeral Home and the funeral will be Tuesday December 18 at 1:00 P.M. burial will immediately following in the Puxico city cemetery.

In Memory of Byran E. Jackson
Byran E. Jackson of Wappapello, son of the late Paul and Joyce Jackson Lewis, was born in Ironton, Missouri on February 16, 1969, and passed away at his home in Wappapello on December 6, 2018, at the age of 49 years, 9 months and 20 days.

Byran had lived in Wappapello the past three years. He was a construction worker and worked on steel beams.

Surviving are one son, Nathan Crocker of Wappapello, Missouri; his girl friend, Robin Ramsey of Wappapello, Missouri; two sisters, Valencia Moore and Katie Lewis both of Farmington, Missouri; one brother, Richard Lewis of Ellington, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Nathan Lewis and one sister, Elizabeth Easley.

There are no services scheduled at this time.

In Memory of Orville (PeeWee), Nelson
Sikeston, MO - Orville (PeeWee), Nelson, age 80, went to his heavenly home, on December 14, 2018, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born July 21, 1938 in the Big Opening Community to the late Orville and Irene Griffin Nelson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He attended Sunnyvale General Baptist Church. He served the Lord faithfully for many years as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Orville was a self-employed farmer all his life. He loved to tinker in his shop where he spent many hours engineering and fixing things. He enjoyed camping with his wife and all his family. One of his greatest joys, were his granddaughters. He enjoyed spending time with them and never missed watching or listening to their basketball games.

On June 1, 1962 at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Bernie, he married his beloved wife of 57 years, Charlcie. Other survivors include one son and daughter in law, Scott and Lee Ann Nelson of Dexter. Two sisters, Janet Tuttle, and Marlene Burgess both of Sikeston. Two granddaughters, Dr. Taylor Nelson and Kelci Nelson both of Columbia, Missouri. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Wade Paul Nelson, and one brother J.W. Nelson.

We will dearly miss him, his example of love, commitment, and integrity, but find great peace in knowing we will see him again.

Friends may call Monday, December 17, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 noon at Ponder Funeral Home, with Rev. James Hamlett, pastor of Sunnyvale General Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors.

In Memory Douglas Edward Robinett
Douglas Edward Robinett, son of Virginia Maxine Vaughn and the late Charles Edward Robinett was born on January 30, 1969 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed this life on December 12, 2018 at his residence in Bloomfield, Missouri at the age of 49 years.

Mr. Robinett served in the Army National Guard in Dexter, Missouri.  He was a resident of Bloomfield, Missouri.  He was a Manager for Tyson in the General Production Shipping Department in Dexter, Missouri.  He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1987.

Survivors include, his mom, Virginia Vaughn of Bloomfield, Missouri and step-mother Joy Lynn Robinett of Bloomfield, Missouri; two sons, Devon Robinett (Whitley) of Dexter, Missouri and Brent Robinett (Yeximani) of Bloomfield, Missouri; one brother, Gordon Robinett of Bloomfield, Missouri and one step-brother Clay Holifield of Puxico, Missouri: two step-sisters, Kelly Kinney of Bloomfield, Missouri and Angie Ledbetter of Advance, Missouri; two grandchildren, Sariyh Robinette and Brooklynn Robinett.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Rice and Rev. Dale Jones officiating. 

Interment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

In Memory of Elsie M. Pointer
Elsie M. Pointer, daughter of the late Frank Cuevas Lopez and Josefa Baez de Cuevas was born on October 25, 1925 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and departed this life on December 12, 2018 at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Facility in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 93 years.

Mrs. Pointer was a Truant Officer for the Bernie Public School System for many years. She was loved by all the kids and faculty in the school system and was loved by anyone who met her.

On November 11, 1951, she was united in marriage to Bryon K. “Gabe” Pointer in Piggott, Arkansas.  Mr. Pointer preceded her in death on August 2, 2004.

Survivors include:  two sons, Robert S. Barney (Janice) of Dexter, Missouri and Kent Pointer (Jenny) of Denver, Colorado; four daughters, Eleanor Marie Sherfield (Floyd) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Diane Hollis of New Orleans, Ivette Rothschild (Andy) of Clayton, Missouri and Marla Sexton (Jim) of Denver, Colorado; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Frank Cuevas Baez and one sister, Lillian Cuevas de Zamora.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. 

Funeral service will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 12:30 PM with Rev. Ron Beaton officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
