In Memory Sandra Kay Perry Massey
Sandra Kay Perry Massey, daughter of the late Dallas Perry and Lydia Fulkerson Perry was born on August 19, 1946 in Aquilla, Missouri and departed this life on December 11, 2018, at her residence in Bloomfield, Missouri, at the age of 72 years.

On January 8, 1966 she was united in marriage to Larry Massey in Bloomfield, Missouri.  Mr. Massey survives of the home.

Mrs. Massey was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield.  She was a housewife and loved reading, gardening, serving others in her church and helping her husband on their family farm.  After they retired from farming they enjoyed taking vacations in their RV.

In addition to her husband Larry, she is survived by one daughter, Julie Schoolfield of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and by one granddaughter, Lyla Schoolfield.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 4:30p.m. until 8:00p.m.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 10:00a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alice Fowler officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

In Memory of Loyd Aarant
Loyd Aarant, son of the late Harold Aarant and Joan Knight Aarant was born on June 4, 1945 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on December 6, 2018 at the age of 73 years.

Mr. Aarant was a veteran of the National Guard and was self-employed in construction.

He is survived by two sons, Tad and Aaron; by two sisters, Sandra McGovern of Nason, Illinois and Melana Allen of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; by one granddaughter, Sabra Aarant.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Jean Carolyn Hatcher Moss
Jean Carolyn Hatcher Moss, daughter of the late Robert S. Hatcher and Mary Iona Reece Hatcher was born on July 11, 1928 in Cairo, Illinois and departed this life on December 9, 2018 at the Dexter Living Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 90 years.

Mrs. Moss was the wife of a WWII Veteran. She was a house wife, was of the Methodist faith and was a resident of Dexter.

On November 27, 1982, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Beuford Moss in Sevier County, Tennessee.  Mr. Moss preceded her in death on October 6, 1994.

Survivors include:  one son, Ronald Sams of Sikeston, Missouri; two daughters, Vicki Corrick (Ed) of Cullman, Alabama and Donna Brown (Dub) of Greenback, Tennessee; by five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Edward.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. 

Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery

In Memory of Thurman “Mike” Almond
Thurman “Mike” Almond, age 76, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 peacefully in his home in Dexter, MO.

Mike was born on May 29, 1942 in Aid, Missouri to the late Thurman Autie Almond and Mamie Juldene Long Almond.  In 1959, he met the love of his life and wife of 56 years, Becky Hubbard Almond.  Together they had three sons, Todd Almond (Tina) of Piperton, TN, Keith Almond (Shelly) of Morley, MO, and was proceeded in death by Brant David Almond.  He was a very proud grandpa to eight grandchildren, Heather Almond, Taylor M. Almond, Hunter Almond (Taylor), Tanner Almond (Sarah), Bailey Almond, Sydney Almond, Rylan Almond and two great-grandchildren, Grayson Almond and Jaxston Almond.  Mike is survived by his sister Connie Almond of Sikeston, MO and was proceeded in death by his parents, sister Julia “Judy” Almond and grandson Blake Dawson Almond.  

Mike retired from the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a Zone Sergeant in the Dexter area.  He served in the United States military and retired as a Major with the Missouri Army National Guard.  Mike attended the Dexter New Covenant Church.  He had a passion for classic cars and cherished the comradery, friendships, and his time of service in both the Highway Patrol and National Guard.  Mike’s sense of humor and laughter first attracted his wife, Becky, to him.  He often reminisced with friends over fun times and the music of the 1950’s.   He was a wonderful man and our love for him will live on in our memories forever.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Alice Fowler officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In Memory of Tony O’Hara
Tony O’Hara, son of the late Anthony O’Hara and Thelma Venable O’Hara was born on November 24, 1952 in Rumbar, MO and departed this life on December 6, 2018 at his residence in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 66 years. 

Mr. O’Hara was a Veteran of the United States Army and worked as a truck driver.

On March 17, 2000 he was united in marriage to Annette Ward in Benton, Missouri. Mrs. O’Hara survives of the home.

Besides his wife, survivors include; three sons, Tony O’Hara, Patrick O’Hara, and Nik Ward all of Sikeston; two brothers, Leo O’Hara of Poplar Bluff and Charles Hall of Live Oak, California; three sisters, Carolyn Rogers of Poplar Bluff, Patricia Keffler of Parma, Idaho, Stephanie Braunstein of Redding, California; two grandchildren, Taylor O’Hara and Kristen O’Hara both of Sikeston. 

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Pastor Jim Vent officiating. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
