In Memory of Vernon Abernathy

Vernon Abernathy, son of the late Edward and Myrtle Boyd Abernathy, was born in Advance, Missouri on May 10, 1929, and passed away at his home near Puxico, Missouri on February 21, 2018, at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 11 days.
He had lived in St. Louis and moved to Puxico in 1966. He was a member of the Christ Gospel Church in Millersville and was attending the Duck Creek Baptist Church near Puxico. He had worked for Hubert Browning Trucking, and farmed most of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his shop.
On May 23, 1952, he was married to Dortha Dunning in Marble Hill, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife Dortha Abernathy of Puxico; two daughters & husbands, Bernadean (Miles) Anselm of Poplar Bluff, Debbie (George) Strombach of Puxico; one grandson & wife, Ben (Sally) Hancock of Puxico; one granddaughter & spouse, Danielle (Esther) Steinman of Seattle, Washington; three great grandchildren, Ezra Steinman, Avery and Addison Hancock; two sisters, Rosemary (Eldon) Stroup of Puxico, Betty Lou Poe of Brownwood. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernas Abernathy and Hubert Browning and one sister, Lucille Walker.
Visitation will be Monday, February 26, 2018, after 10:00 am at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico until time for services at 1:00 pm at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Buck Cruse of Puxico officiating.
Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Kevin Graham

Kevin Graham, 56, of 741 Mill Street, Carrier Mills, IL died Monday February 19, 2018 at 6:20 pm in St. Vincent's Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Memorial services will be held Saturday February 24, 2018 at 1 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday after 11 am until service time. Richard Graham will officiate and Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery in Dogwood, MO at a later date. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family with the arrangements.
He was born on March 11, 1961 in Aurora, IL to the late Gerald Graham and Sadie (Burns) Graham Jenkins.
He married the former Gina Nolen on October 2, 2001 and she survives.
Kevin was a entrepreneur of sorts, he was a retail business owner, he was fond of his music and electronics. He loved movies and laughter but most importantly he loved the time he shared with his grandchildren.
He is survived by Wife: Gina Graham of Carrier Mills, IL; 4 Children: Kristy (Phillip) Dunn of Carrier Mills, IL; Brandon (Brittney) Burrow of Sikeston, MO; Mike (Diana) Wamble of Dexter, MO and Laura (Cliff) Dombrow of Carrier Mills, IL; Brother: Richard (Beth) Graham of Carrier Mills, IL; Sister: Dawn (Mike) Davis of Carrier Mills, IL; 8 Grandchildren: Chase & Peyton Dunn; Brayton & Blakelyn Burrow; Taylor & Cameron Dombrow and Emma and Rhett Wamble; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Brother: Colin Graham.

In Memory of Mildred Louise McRoy

Mildred Louise McRoy of Bloomfield, daughter of the late James H. and Comilla Tedder Bowling, was born in Cooter, Missouri on June 12, 1928, and passed away at the Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri on February 20, 2018, at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 8 days.
Mrs. McRoy had lived in Bloomfield, Missouri most of her life. She had attended the Baptist Church.
On October 4, 1947, she was married to Calvin C. McRoy in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2012.
Surviving are son, Jim McRoy of Farmington; one daughter, Sue Hampton of Bloomfield; one daughter-in-law, Brenda McRoy of Bloomfield; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Jo Mynatt of Memphis, Tennessee. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Gene McRoy; one daughter, Mary Jines and six siblings.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018, after 11:00 am at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield until time for services at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Dwight Hensley of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will be at 10:00 am on Monday, February 26 in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Euell Dean Phillips

Euell Dean Phillips, son of the late Leonard Phillips and Nellie Nicholas Phillips was born in Alicia, Arkansas on March 30, 1936 and departed this life in Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on February 19, 2018 at the age of 81.
Mr. Phillips served his community as a Preacher and an Auto Repairman, was a member of Dudley Community Church and a resident of Bloomfield, Missouri.
He was united in marriage to Wilma Wheetley in New Madrid, Missouri on September 25, 1956. Mrs. Phillips survives in their home in Bloomfield.
Survivors include four sons, Jimmy “JP” Phillips of Bloomfield, Missouri, Larry Phillips of Puxico, Missouri, Charles “Charlie” Phillips and Roy Phillips all of Bloomfield, Missouri; by one honorary son, Rick DeLay; by one brother Glenn Phillips of Branson, Missouri; by one sister, Linda Nelson of Marston, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Travis Phillips, Dustin Boyles, Joshua Phillips, Melanie Elizabeth Phillips; by honorary grandchildren, Chelsea DeLay & Courtney DeLay Aslin; by two great-grandchildren, James and Lila; by one honorary great-grandchild, DeLayne; also by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death other than by his parents by one daughter, Melonie Faye Phillips; by one brother, Melvin Phillips.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Funeral services will then be conducted at 3:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. John Ross & Roy Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Virginia DeCelis "Ginny"

Virginia DeCelis, “Ginny” 95 of Booneville, Missouri died February 14, 2018 at the Riverdell Care Center.
She was born June 21, 1923 in Puxico to Edward and Francis Harty, they both preceded her in death
She worked as a telephone operator for many years.
Survivors include one daughter Linda Casey out of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; three brothers Johnny, Alfred and Levi Harty; one sister Linda Hyde and many precious friends.
Visitation will be conducted Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 6:00 PM at the Morgan Sifford funeral home in Puxico.
Funeral services was conducted on February 19, 2018 also in the funeral home with Reverend Rudy Pittman and Larry Underwood.
Interment followed in the Brown Chapel Cemetery north of Puxico, Missouri.
