In Memory of Lex Donaldson

In Memory of Lex Donaldson
Lex Donaldson, son of the late Ezekial Donaldson and Cordelia McGlaun Donaldson, was born in Topoccola, Michigan on November 10, 1922 and departed this life in Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on September 11, 2017 at the age of 94.
 
Mr. Donaldson was a Veteran of the United States Army and had served during World War II. He was a hard working farm hand, was a member of House Church of God in Christ of Parma, Missouri and was a resident of Malden.
 
He was untied in marriage to Earsie Mae Davis in Piggott, Arkansas on January 14, 1949. Mrs. Donaldson preceded her husband in death on May 8, 1998.
 
Survivors include two sons, Lon V. Jones of Cleveland, Ohio and Tommie Lee Donaldson, Malden, Missouri; by three daughters, Virginia Lee Pulley and Marilyn Donaldson both of Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Eula Mae Donaldson of Malden, Missouri; by one sister, Linda Louise Dixon of Mt. Clemens, Michigan; by 17 Grandchildren and by numerous Great-grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren; also by other relatives and many friends.
 
He was preceded in death other than by his parents and his wife, by five brothers, John E. Donaldson, Roy Edward Donaldson, Jack Donaldson, John William Donaldson and Tommy Donaldson; by three sisters, Molly Mae Donaldson, Luedna Donaldson and Christine Donaldson.
 
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M.  

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie at 1:00 P.M. with Elder Samuel Elliot Pulley officiating.

Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Malden, Missouri with Full Military Honors. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Bonnie Sue Dyer

Bonnie Sue (Walker) Dyer died peacefully in her home in Sikeston, MO on September 9, 2017 at the age of 82.  

Bonnie was survived by her husband, Jerry Dyer of the home; Patricia Gail (Bobby) Coon of Charleston; Rick Dyer of Sikeston; Leslie (Kevin) Blaine of Rutledge, MO; and brother, Herb (Sheri) Walker of Valley View, Texas.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Alecia (Ralf) Welvers of Chicago, IL; Crystal (Josh) Evans of Knoxville, TN; Lindsey (Brad) Walworth of St. Louis; and Jeri Molloy of Dallas, TX.  Also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren, Andrew and Evan Welvers, Isla and Oliver Evans and Ember Walworth.  

Her parents, Marvin and Louise Walker, sisters, Linda Link, Pat Masur and Norma Porter preceded her in death.  

Bonnie was born Feb. 25, 1935 in Sikeston.  

She lived in East St. Louis until her high school years, then moved to Sikeston where she lived with her Aunt Mary and Uncle Herb Walton.  

Bonnie graduated from Sikeston High School in 1954.  While attending high school, she was a twirler and Cayenne for the Red Peppers organization.  

She married Gerald F. "Jerry" Dyer on March 20, 1954.  

They enjoyed going to Lake Wappapello every weekend for fishing and relaxation with friends and family.  Bonnie was the acting CFO of Dyer Heating and Cooling since its inception.  

She was a lifetime member of Girl Scouts and dedicated many years to being a scout leader. She received the highest honor bestowed upon an adult Girl Scout, the "Thanks Badge".  

Bonnie also organized Day Camps and was the unit leader at the annual Roundup at Sweetwater Farms for many years.  She served on the board of directors for Camp Latonka and with the help of Jerry prepared the camp for summer sessions.  

Bonnie served on the Sikeston Park Board and in 2011 was selected for the Park Honors Board, being only the second woman selected at that time.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Clinton Building  501 Campanella Drive from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm, Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017.

In Memory of James Anderson, Sr.
James W. Anderson, Sr., of St. Peters, son of the late James Floyd and Mary Jane Rickman Anderson, was born in Beach Corner, Missouri on October 7, 1932, and passed away at his home, with his wife of 64 years by his side, in St. Peters on September 8, 2017, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 1 day.

James had lived in the Bloomfield area most of his life and moved to St. Peters twelve years ago. He attended the New Beginnings Church in St. Peters and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

On November 2, 1951, he married Nola May Jones in Piggott, Arkansas.

Surviving are his wife, Nola M. Anderson of St. Peters; three grandchildren and spouses, Richard Dale & Tina Anderson of St. Peters, Jennifer Lynn & Bryan Jones of O'Fallon, Rachel Michelle & David Charron of Springfield, Missouri; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and one sister, Sharon Anderson of Hartford, Michigan. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his son, James W. Anderson, Jr.

Friends may visit on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. when services will be held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Ken Long of St. Peters and Rev. Dale Presley of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.

In Memory of Betty Mae Stoner
Betty Mae Stoner, daughter of the late William Jack Hembrey and Belle Davis Hembrey was born on August 10, 1933 in Newport, Arkansas and departed this life on September 9, 2017 at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 84 years.

Mrs. Stoner retired from Arvin Automotive Manufacturing in Dexter, Missouri and was a resident of Dexter. On May 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert Junior Stoner in Tuckerman, Arkansas.  

Mr. Stoner preceded her in death on June 21, 1989.

Survivors include three sons, Bobby Stoner of Dudley, Missouri, Tim Stoner (Amanda) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and DeWayne Stoner (Dollie) of Dexter; one daughter, Debbie Whitsel of Benton, Missouri; two brothers, Hub Hembrey (Joyce) of Tuckerman, Arkansas and Jack Hembrey (Sandy) of Newport, Arkansas; three sisters, Thelma Cockrill of Newport, Arkansas, Christine Roberts (Bill) of Vidalia, Louisiana, and Katie Hawk (Doyle) of Newport; by twelve grandchildren, Ashley Cross (Jason) of Jackson, Missouri, Casey Stoner and T.J. Stoner both of Dexter, Wade Stoner (Toni) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Allen Wilson of Dexter, Tamera Stoner of Poplar Bluff, Tori Carter of Benton, Janey Stoner and Nathen Stoner both of Bernie, Renea Shen, Michael Whitsel, and Stephen Whitsel all of Herrion, Illinois; also by 28 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. 

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one, son Robert Stoner, one daughter, Joyce Whitsel, grandson, Larry J. Whitsel, one great-great-grandson, Eddie Moroney V, one brother, T.J. Hembrey, by three sisters, Sue Creameans, Emily Layton, and Joyce Armstrong. 

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 9:00 until 10:30 A.M. Monday, September 11, 2017.  

Funeral services will then be conducted on Monday at 10:30 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Steve Tippen officiating.  

Interment will follow in the Dudley Cemetery.

In Memory of Juanita Thurston
Juanita Thurston, daughter of the late Enid Wright Burton was born on September 6, 1925 in Michigan and departed this life on September 8, 2017 at the Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Missouri at the age of 92.
 
Mrs. Thurston, was a former teacher at Bernie Public Schools, member of the Bernie United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and Missouri State Teachers Association.
 
On December 1, 1945, she was united in marriage to Carl “BUD” Thurston in Malden, Missouri. Mr. Thurston preceded her in death on December 29, 1994.
 
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mike Thurston (Kay) of Dexter, Missouri; by three grandsons, Bradley Thurston (Marsha), James Thurston (Angie), and Darin Thurston; also by six great-grandchildren, Nathan Thurston, Zac Thurston, Colton Thurston, Luke Thurston, Ella Thurston, and Carter Thurston; great-great grandchild, Karson Thurston.
 
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James Proctor, Bobby Proctor, and Jerry Proctor.
 
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Monday, September 11, 2017.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Dave Fowler and Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
