In Memory of Josh Stevens
Josh Stevens, son of Nathan Stevens and step-mother, Maria Diane Stevens of Dexter and the late Carla Wilson Lutes was born on April 15, 1989 and departed this life on September 3, 2017 at the Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County Emergency Room at the age of 28 years.  

Survivors include his father Nathan Stevens and step-mom Maria Stevens; by five brothers, Cody Stevens, Ethan Stevens, Jordon Mason, Jarrett Sandlin and Jarred Sandlin; by one sister Jantzen Cain.
He was preceded in death by his mom Carla Wilson Lutes.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 until 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Light House Christian Center in Dexter. Memorial service will follow at 6:00 P.M. in the Light House Christian Center in Dexter with Rev. Tim Russell officiating.

In Memory of Claudia Wilson
Claudia J. Wilson of Dexter, daughter of the late Chalmer Hayden and Lola Harriette Oddy Oyler, was born August 11, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee and passed away at her home in Dexter on September 3, 2017, at the age of 72 years and 23 days.

She had lived in Florida before moving to Dexter five years ago.

Surviving are two daughters and husbands, Hattie & John Granstaff of Dexter, Lola & Dewayne Beard of LaBelle, Florida; five grandchildren, Maura Buchanan, Manie Lanyon, Dewayne Beard, Jr., Brittany (Tony) Smith, Lola (Daniel) Dickinson; seven great grandchildren, thomas Bryant, Joseph Bryant, Dennis Bryant, Amberly Coker, Logan Beard, Ashley Dickinson and James Stafford; one brother, Bill Oyler of Eads, Tennessee. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Tommy Beard.

There are no services scheduled at this time.

Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Alisha (Petty) Hagy of Wappapello, daughter of John Henry, Sr. and Linda Sue Watson Petty, was born May 4, 1984, in Charleston, Missouri and passed away in Memphis on September 2, 2017, at the age of 33 years, 3 months and 29 days.

She had lived in Essex and Grayridge area most of her life before moving to Wappapello two years ago. She had worked at Dollar Tree and loved to decorate, do arts and crafts, singing and music.

On June 19, 2010, she married Johnny Ray Hagy.

Surviving are her husband, Johnny Ray Hagy of Wappapello; her parents, John Henry, Sr. and Linda Sue Petty of Wappapello; two daughters, Lillyonna Morrison of Wappapello, Stashia Hagy of Dexter; five sons; Juice Hagy and Zeke Hughes both of Wappapello, Cody Hagy, James Wallace and Brandon Mitchell all of Dexter; one grandson, Landon Michael; two brothers, Dallas Petty of Malden, and Nicholas Petty of Wappapello; two special nieces, Hannah Wilson and Hayli Petty both of Dexter. Other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Henry "J.J." Petty, Jr. and all of her grandparents, both Watson's and Petty's.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Richard Blagg of Wappapello officiating.

Interment will held at the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Carolyn Ann Cook Link, daughter of the late Cecil Clyde Cook and Gertie Gann Cook was born on October 1, 1939 in Bernie, Missouri and departed this life on September 3, 2017 at her residence in Bernie, Missouri at the age of 77.

She was united in marriage to James Conway Link and he preceded her in death on May 9. 1998.

Survivors include; two sons, James David Link of Bernie, Missouri and Timmy Wade Link of Farmington, Missouri; by one brother, Clifford Cook of Dexter, Missouri; by six sisters, Neita Pullum of Malden, Missouri, Alberta Pullum of Dexter, Missouri, Bernice Whitehead and June Crossland both of Festus, Missouri, Judy Walker of Bernie, Missouri and Barbara Maddox of Malden Missouri; by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Cook and Carlyn Cook.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Chad Cook officiating.

Rainey Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Shirley Joyce Timberlake, daughter of the late William Edward Robinson and Dessie Ray Pulliam Robinson was born in Dudley, Missouri on February 28, 1935 and departed this life in Hunter Acres Caring Center of Sikeston, Missouri on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the age of 82.

Ms. Timberlake was a homemaker, was a beloved Aunt and had Mothered the Whole Palmer Family and was a resident of Bernie.
 
Survivors include her five Nephews, Jack W. Palmer & wife Mary of Bernie, Missouri, Ronald G. Palmer of Bernie, Missouri, Larry D. Palmer & wife Joyce of Bloomfield, Missouri, Johnny R. & wife Sheri of Bernie, Missouri and Mark “Randy” Palmer & wife Vivian of Wesley Chapel, Florida; by five Nieces, Sandra K. Cryts of Bernie, Missouri, Linda F. Merritt of Bernie, Missouri, Rita A Burch & husband Glen of Bernie, Missouri, Brenda E. Smith & husband Larry of Bloomfield, Missouri and Sally J. Cloninger of Bernie, Missouri; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents, by one sister, Dorothy Beatrice Robinson Palmer; by three brothers, Albert Edward Robinson, Kenneth Donald Robinson and Rev. Wilford Eugene Robinson; by three nieces, Deborah Palmer, Linda Jane Ford and Kathleen A. Smetana; by one nephew, Thomas William Robinson.
 
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.  

A memorial service will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel starting at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of Arrangements.
