Charles Victor Orr

On April 2, 1943, he was married to Jewell Elizabeth Eavenson in Dudley, Missouri. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2007.
Mr. Orr had lived in Dudley most of his life, working as a carpenter and logger; in his later years he worked for the Corp of Engineers and retired in 1988. He was a member of the Dudley Community Church, he enjoyed flea markets but his passion was documenting Native American Indian sites in Southeast Missouri. He served as a trustee of the Missouri Archaeological Society.
Mr. Orr served in the U. S. Third Army as a combat engineer during World War II under General George S. Patton. He participated in four military campaigns: Rhineland, Northern France, Central Europe and Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge). He was honorably discharged on November 3, 1945.
Surviving are one son & wife, Darryl & Diana Orr of Dexter, Missouri; one daughter & husband, Nicki & Bill Allen of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kristie, Lindsey, Taylor & David; and eight great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Kathryn, Margaret, Ina, and Peggy; and three brothers, John, Carroll and Raymond.
Friends may call on Saturday September 13, 2014, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 13, 2007, at 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Greg Meadows of Dudley, Missouri officiating.
Interment will be in the Dudley Cemetery in Dudley, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
