Helen Robinett

Helen Robinett, daughter of the late Albert J. Phillips and Dorothy Elizabeth Graves was born on December 26, 1930 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on January 6, 2014 at SoutheastHealth in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 83 years.

Mrs. Robinett was of the Baptist faith, a former employee of Monaco Egg, International Hat Factory, and International Shoe Company all in Dexter.  Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, and very passionate about her Christian faith. She was also a resident of Dexter.

On May 29, 1953 she was untied in marriage to Don Robinett in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  Mr. Robinett preceded her in death on May 3, 2008.

Survivors include four sons, Richard Phillips of Stoney Point, North Carolina, Donnie Robinett of Poplar Bluff, Phillip Robinett and Roger Robinett both of Dexter; by one daughter, Gail Acton of Dexter; one brother, Marion W. Phillips of Dexter; eleven grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Phillips Mason, Craig and Carl Blankenship, Shane Phillips, Allen Morton,  Alicia Shepphard and husband Matthew, Andrea Acton, Laura and Leslie Robinett, Taylor and Logan Hill; also by one great-grandson, Brody Mason.

The Robinett family would like to give out a special thank you to Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter and SoutheastHealth in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday January 9, 2014.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday January 10, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Dean Williams officiating.

Interment will follow at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.

Mary Louise Hobgood

Mary Louise Hobgood, daughter of the late Homer Elsworth and Madgie Partin Elsworth was born in Bernie, Missouri on November 1, 1931 and departed this life in Golden Living Care Center in Malden, Missouri on January 5, 2014 at the age of 82.

Mrs. Hobgood had worked at Brown Shoe Company in Bernie, was a homemaker and member of Bernie General Baptist Church.

She was united in marriage to Cecil Earl Hobgood in Piggott, Arkansas on May 10, 1947.  Mr. Hobgood preceded his wife in death on November 18, 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas E. Hobgood and wife Debbie of Bernie, Eddie D. Hobgood and wife Betty of Dexter; by one brother Glendle Elsworth of Malden; by two sisters, Laurissa Jean Brandon and Brenda Brown both of Dexter; by five grandchildren, Laurie Bell, Rebekah Tanner, Derek Hobgood, Mark Hobgood, Kristin Sitzez; by 11 great-grandchildren, Zachary Tanner, Kayli Tanner, Luke Tanner, Madison Bell, Dalton Hobgood, Cane Hobgood, Ethan Hobgood, Christin Sitzes, Olivia Sitzez, Josh Sitzes and Audrey Sitzes; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband, by three brothers, Chalmer Elsworth, Hershel Elsworth and Leon Elsworth; by two sisters, Donis Elsworth and Linda Elsworth.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in BERNIE, Missouri on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday morning, January 8, 2014 starting at 11:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick and Stan Dauck officiating.  

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Brinda Wallis

Brinda Wallis, daughter of the late Peter Tandski and Mabel Gillis Ferguson was born on August 28, 1939 at Pontiac, Michigan and departed this life in her residence at Dexter on January 1, 2014 at the age of 74 years.

Mrs. Wallis was of the Christian faith, a home-maker and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Wallis on November 16, 1956 at Pontiac, Michigan.  Mr. Wallis preceded her in death on June 17, 1992.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmie Lea Wallis of Rochester, Michigan and Martin Eric Wallis (Ronda) of Clarkston, Michigan: by one daughter, MeLinda Keys (Warren) of Longview, Texas: by two sisters, LaVerne Tinker and LaVeda Banken (John) both of Dexter: by one brother, Derill Ferguson Jr. (Linda) of Hartville, Ohio: by six grandchildren, Kelly Collins. Kristy Robinson, Leisa Martin, Shannon Wallis, Jessica Wallis and Jennifer Wallis: by four great-grandchildren, Darren Beatty, Hannah Martin, Addison Collins and Bentley Collins.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Tandski.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M, Monday, January 6, 2014. 

Funeral services will then be conducted at 3:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Williams officiating. 

Interment will be held at the Rosewood Park Cemetery at Longview, Texas.

Ruth O. Lane
Ruth O. Lane, daughter of the late Lesley James and Mary Finna Garrison Edwards, was born in Gideon, Missouri on March 21, 1930, and passed away at The Bluffs Nursing Center in Columbia, Missouri on December 31, 2013, at the age of 83 years, 9 months, and 10 days.

She had grown up in the Frisco area moved to Dexter after retirement. She was a member of the Church of Christ, the Eastern Star and the Elks Lodge #2439.

On February 23, 1946, she was married to Delmer Lane in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Surviving are two sons, Perry Lane of Dexter, Tim Lane of St. Louis; two daughters, Connie Wyatt of Cape Coral, Florida, Cherie Chapman of Coumbia; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Lane, one granddaughter, Morgan Lane, and one brother, Buddy Edwards.

Friends may call on Saturday, January 4, 2014, after 12:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Herman Morse of Dexter, Missouri officiating.

Interment with be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Tim Lee Jenkins

Tim Lee Jenkins of Hermitage, TN age 51, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Joyce DeAnn Jenkins and his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jenkins and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Birchfield all of Dexter, MO. 

He is survived by his wife, Roana Jenkins; sons, Jaden Nash Jenkins, Colton Cash Jenkins; step-daughter, Torri Vance; father, Mr. Bob Jenkins; sisters, Jeanne (Danny) Summers, Sharon Smith, Cindy (Joe) Nichols; nephews, Nic Smith, Jake Smith, Drew Nichols; nieces, Rachael Diaz, Alana Dowdy and many other friends and relatives.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Nashville, TN, Wednesday, January 1, 2014, from 2-4pm followed by a funeral service at 4 pm.

An additional visitation and service will be held at Rainey - Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, MO, Saturday, January, 4, from 9-11am followed by the service at 11am.

The burial will be at Armstead Dowdy Cemetery in Dexter, MO.
