Damon Burks, Sr., son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Mary Louise Kinnison Burks, was born on April 6, 1940, in Holland, Missouri and passed away on December 11, 2013, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 5 days.
He had lived in the Bloomfield area most of his life. He was a member of the Living Water Worship Center in Bloomfield.
On June 13, 1958, he was married to Shirley Jenkins in New Madrid, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Burks of Bloomfield; one son, Damon Burks, Jr. of Bloomfield; one daughter, Cheryl White of Bloomfield; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Burks of Bridgeman, Michigan; and one sister, Mary Morefield of Sikeston. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, David Burks.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2013, 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the Living Water Worship Center in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be on Sunday December 15, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Living Water Worship Center in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Jim Hook of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will be in the North Anitioch Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
