Bobby Ray Rodgers

Bobby Ray Rodgers

Bobby Ray Rodgers, son of the late Samuel Rodgers and Irene Stephens Rodgers, was born on June 5, 1939 in Bernie, Missouri and departed this life on May 22, 2013 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 73 years.

 

Mr. Rodgers was a member of the Bernie Church of Christ, and he retired as the groundskeeper for the Bernie Cemetery.  He was also a former member of the Malden Saddle Club and the Lions Club.

 

On April 19, 1956, he was united in marriage to Gayle Cecil in Hernando, Mississippi.  Mrs. Rodgers survives of the home.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jeff Rodgers and his wife, Waynetta, of Bernie, Missouri; by two daughters, Judy Flanner and her husband, Scott, of Bernie, Missouri and Misty Rodgers of Bernie, Missouri; by one sister, Wilma Triplett of Ellsinore, Missouri; by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville “Junior” Rodgers and Carlton “Buck” Rodgers; by four sisters, Glenda Allen, Mary “Tunnie” Atchley, Shirley Richards and Avenell Lucus; and by one grandchild.

 

Friends may call at the Bernie Church of Christ on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Mary 24, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Bernie Church of Christ with Stan Dauck officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Harold Glen Wallace

Harold Glen Wallace, son of the late Willie William Wallace and Bessie Williams Wallace was born on January 20, 1940 in Newport, Arkansas and departed this life at his residence in Rural Malden, Missouri on May 21, 2013 at the age of 73.

Mr. Wallace worked as a Well Driller and was a heavy equipment operator.  He attended Word of Faith Family Church in Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Ann Brownen in 1961, Mrs. Wallace preceded her husband in death on July 7, 2000.  He later married Pat Brewer on February 22, 2002 in Scott City, Missouri. 

Survivors include his wife, Pat Wallace of Malden, Missouri; by three sons, Rodney Glenn Wallace of Parma, Missouri, Steven Wayne Wallace and Brian Lee Wallace, both of Malden, Missouri; by two daughters, Debra Joyce Schwettman of Scott City, Missouri and Brenda Gail Young of Portageville, Missouri; by five sisters, Manda Kellick of Dexter, Missouri, Wanda Calvert of Fagus, Missouri Beatrice Sigers of Jackson, Michigan, Loudean Starnes of Dexter, Missouri and Nadine Orr of Columbia, Indiana; by thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents and his first wife, by three brothers, Theurman Dale Wallace, Lloyd Wallace and William Bill Wallace; and by one sister, Edith Midgett.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in BERNIE, on Thursday evening May 23, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dale Hartle and Rev. Elijah Allen officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Connie Lucille Pope

Connie Lucille Pope, daughter of the late Le Pope and Freida Marie Patten Pope, was born on January 15, 1956 in Bernie, Missouri, and departed this life on May 16, 2013 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 57 years.

Ms. Pope was a resident of Bernie, Missouri and a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Jerry E. Tessier of Bernie, Missouri; by one half-brother, Danny Estes of Nashville, Tennessee; by four half-sisters, Sue Henderson and her husband, Frank, of Greenville, Missouri, Diane Tuttle of Greenville, Missouri, Pat Alessi of Forrest City, Arkansas and Pat Estes of Sikeston, Missouri.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Gary Albertson and Glenn Cunningham; and by her grandparents, Clarence and Janie Cunningham.

Arrangements are being handled by Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

James H. Brooks

James H. Brooks, son of the late James H. Brooks, Sr. and Ellie Rollins Brooks, was born on June 2, 1949 in Marked Tree, Arkansas and departed this life on May 13, 2013 at his residence in Wappapello, Missouri at the age of 63 years.

Mr. Brooks worked as an electrician, and was a member of the IBEW Local 516 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  He was also a member of the Eagles and the VFW in Wappapello.

He is survived by one son, Kevin Brooks of Perryville, Missouri; by one daughter, Carol Faries of Wappappello, Missouri; by one brother, Jimmy Brooks, of Tulot, Arkasas; by one sister, Paulette Brooks, of Truman, Arkansas; by five grandchildren, Matheau, Katie, Logan, Bradley and Riley; and by six great-grandchildren, Kaylea, Justin, Paylor, Hayley, Raylyn and Tristan.

In addition to his parents, one brother, Billy Brooks, preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 19, 2013.

Herman “John” Williamson, son of the late Herman Williamson and Ruby Maurene Jackson Box, was born on December 13, 1946, in Holcomb, Missouri and passed away at his home near Puxico on May 14, 2013, at the age of 66 years.

Herman had lived in Southeast Missouri all his life and had lived near Puxico the past five years. He was a truck driver with Faith Global Transportation and attended the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.

On December 11, 1971, he married Nina Horn in Essex, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Nina Williamson of Puxico; four daughters, Maurena Jenkins of Iowa, Kim Lavy of Troy, Missouri, Janie Gau of Puxico, Missouri, Shaina Smith of Moscow Mills, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, two sisters, Wanda Harris and Linda McCarty both of Bloomfield, Missouri; four brothers, David Williamson of Troy, Missouri, Terry Box of California, Ronnie Acup of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Todd Ingram of Michigan. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three cousins raised as siblings, Wanda Propst, Carros Worley and Charles Evans.

Friends may visit on Sunday May 19, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services will be held on Monday May 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
