Arthur Dwaine Cox, or A. D. as he was known to many, son of the late Arthur Marion Cox and Zoa Gray Cox, was born on October 6, 1937, in Puxico, Missouri, and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on the evening of April 28, 2013 at the age of 75.
He was a resident of Dexter, formally of Cape Girardeau. He graduated from Puxico High School in 1954 at the age of sixteen. He married his wife, Shirley, in 1959, beginning a lasting partnership that remained for fifty-three years. He also was a loving father of three children and eight grandchildren.
A. D. compiled a devoted and successful forty-four year career at Missouri Utilities (now Ameren-UE) with his final position being Southeast District Superintendent of Operations. He was a member of the Masons, the Lions Club and was also actively involved in the Dexter Youth Baseball Program for several years. Later in life, he added golf to his hobbies.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael D. Cox and his wife, Donna, of Chesterfield, Missouri; by two daughters, Paula Hutchcraft, and her husband, Bill, of Dexter, Missouri and Shelly Turlington and her husband, Todd, of Jackson, Missouri; by two sisters, Jewell Cookson and Pansy Barnfield, both of Puxico, Missouri; and by eight grandchildren, Matt Cox, Mitch Cox, Abbie Cox, Lauren Hutchcraft, Brooke Hutchcraft, Erika Hutchcraft, Katie Christian and Ryan Turlington

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lester Clayton officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
Irene Gaines, daughter of the late Charles E. Hoffman and Levie K. Norman Hoffman was born on May 17, 1914 in Dexter, Missouri and died on April 25, 2013 at the Mary Culver Home in Kirkwood, Missouri at the age of 98.
Mrs. Gaines was a retired seamstress at Elders Manufacturing in Dexter. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Dexter.
On December 17, 1932 she was united in marriage to Keith R. “Smokey” Gaines in Clarkton, Missouri. Mr. Gaines preceded her in death on May 13, 1995.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John C. Gaines and wife Mary of Clarksville, Arkansas; by one daughter and son-in-law, Carol Lato and husband Dominic of St. Louis, Missouri; by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, who lived locally, Elmer Hoffman and Ernest Hoffman and by two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Danny Collins officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
Imogene Jones, daughter of the late Benjamin Leslie and Myrtle Mae White Morgan and wife of the late Shelby F. Jones, was born in Judsonia, Arkansas on May 7, 1923, and passed away at the Pacific Care Center in Pacific, Missouri on April 24, 2013, at the age of 89.
She had lived most of her life in Parma, Missouri. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by one son, Harold Wayne Jones; surviving are two daughters, Shelby Vishy of Catawissa, Missouri, M. Carol Robinson of High Ridge, Missouri; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one brother, R. H. Morgan of Parma, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin L. and Eugene Morgan, and three sisters, Eleatha Rackley, Ruth A. Jines and Ella Rackley.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday April 27, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Malden Memorial Park Cemtery in Malden, Missouri with Bro. Bud Mayes officiating.
Interment to follow with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.

Juanita Rankins, daughter of the late James O’Neal and Jenny Hibbard O’Neal, was born on November 11, 1926 in Pocahontas, Arkansas and departed this life on April 22, 2013 at her residence in Gray Ridge, Missouri at the age of 86 years.
Mrs. Rankins was a member of the Gray Ridge General Baptist Church, a homemaker and a longtime resident of Gray Ridge.
On April 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to James William “Jay” Rankins in Piggott, Arkansas. Mr. Rankins preceded her in death on December 16, 1984.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Jiles of Gray Ridge, Missouri and Carolyn Corlew and her husband, Randy, of Essex, Missouri; by one brother, Glen O’Neal, of Jackson, Tennessee; by two sisters, Faye Wheeler of Flint, Michigan and Opal Smith of Jackson, Tennessee; by four grandchildren, James Keith Jiles of Gray Ridge, Clinton Randall Corlew and his wife, Jamie, of Essex, Cristi Jo Comfort and her husband, Jason, of Dexter, and Jeffrey O’Neal Corlew and his wife, Lindsey, of Charleston; and by six great-grandchildren, Maci Jo Comfort, Lila Beth Corlew, Cali Celeste Comfort, Chaney Grace Corlew, Jase Holden Comfort and Brooks Caroline Corlew.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

James A. Johnson, son of the late J. W. Johnson and Minnie Pearl Holloway Johnson, was born on February 25, 1925, in Egypt, Arkansas and departed this life on April 21, 2013, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Missouri, at the age of 88.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the North Side Baptist Church in Bernie and a resident of Gideon formally of Bernie, Missouri. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was employed by United Phone Company in Bernie as a repairman.
On February 1, 1947, he was united in marriage to Ida Ozella Hampton in Weona, Arkansas. Mrs. Johnson preceded him in death on August 29, 2002.
He is survived by one son, Jim Johnson and his wife, Rhonda, of Dexter, Missouri; by two sisters, Tressie Parker of California and Bonnie Alvis of Arkansas; by two grandchildren, Misty Johnson of Dexter and Sara McKay of Hope Arkansas; and by two great-grandchildren, William Silas McKay and Ellasyn Marie McKay.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, J. L. Johnson and one sister, Margrette Miller.
