Jerry B. Gossett
Jerry Gossett, son of the late Millage Gossett and Mildred Campbell Gossett was born on January 18, 1936 in Piggott, Arkansas and departed this life at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on March 14, 2013 at the age of 77 years.

 

Mr. Gossett was the owner and operator of Gossett and Morgan Associates Inc. located in Warren, Michigan and Arnold, Missouri. He was a member of the Dexter Elks Lodge #2439 and a longstanding member of the Dexter Water Board District #1.  Jerry was of the Baptist faith and a resident of Dexter.

 

On January 1, 1954 he was united in marriage to Delores J. Johnson in Dearborn, Michigan.   Mrs. Gossett preceded him in death on December 29, 2007.  He was then united in marriage to Juanita Ragsdale on February 21, 2009 in Dexter, Missouri.  Mrs. Gossett survives of the home in Dexter.

 

Besides his wife, survivors include four daughters, Judy McDonald and Jeff of Crystal River, Florida, Teresa Larocque and Mike of High Ridge, Missouri, Diane Mitchell and her late husband Doug of Summerville, South Carolina, Barbara Judge and Tim of Port St. Lucie, Florida; by six grandchildren, Tony and his wife Michelle, Jennifer, Melanie, Amanda, Brian, and Melissa; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Madyson, William, Desiree, Amber, Jordon, and Caleb; by two brothers, Richard Gossett of Paragould, Arkansas and Norman Gossett of Pocahontas, Arkansas; two sisters, Susan Krause of Piggott, Arkansas and Judy Darlene Messer of Bimble, Kentucky; also by his wives children; Jerrid Ragsdale of Lenoir City, Tennessee, James Warren Ragsdale of Meansville, Georgia and Jacquline Allender of Dexter, Missouri; along with eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

 

Besides his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Matthew Larocque and Ricky St. Pierre; also by one brother, David Gossett; and by two sisters, Jane Brit and Mona Bare.

 

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, March 17, 2013. 


Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kevin Murray  and Rev. Michael Williams officiating. 


Graveside services and Interment will follow at the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 18, 2013.

James W. Lindsey

James W. "Jimmy" Lindsey, son of the late James Arnold and Alma Melissie Heath Lindsey, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 8, 1953, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on March 12, 2013, at the age of 60 years, 2 months and 4 days.

He had lived in Indianapolis until moving to Morehouse ten years ago. He had worked as a truck driver for 20 years and had worked for Pyramid Roofing. He was a member of the Morehouse Assembly of God Church in Morehouse.

On August 20, 1994, he was married to Pamela McClure in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Surviving are his wife, Pam Lindsey of Morehouse; four daughters & husbands, Angie & Tom Bailey of Morehouse, Jessica Gano, Kristie & Mikie Crabtree and Jenny McClure all of Indianapolis, Indiana; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil & Roger Lindsey both of Morehouse; three sisters, Beverly Martin of Bloomfield, Shirley Gordon of Morehouse and Melda Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Mike W. Crabtree.

Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2013, after 10:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Morehouse, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 15, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Morehouse, Missouri with Rev. Larry Portwood of Morehouse, Missouri officiating.

Interment will be in the Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Hazel Gisi

Hazel Gisi, daughter of the late Lawrence and Nora Warren Coffey, was born on January 22, 1923 near Essex, Missouri and departed this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the Golden Living Center at Malden, Missouri at the age of 90.

Mrs. Gisi was a teacher in the Grayridge Headstart Program, a member of Hopewell General Baptist Church and was a resident of rural Essex.

On March 1, 1944, she was united in marriage to Harold Hubert Gisi at Piggott, Arkansas.  He preceded her in death on June 23, 2006.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Carolyn Gisi of Essex; by one granddaughter, Carrie Stephens and husband Owen of Burke, Virginia; by one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Stephens, also of Burke, Virginia.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Perry Gisi; by three brothers, Orville Coffey, Russell Coffey and Loren Coffey; and by one sister, Loraine Fraser.

Friends may call from 12:00 until 2:00 P. M., Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter.  

Services will be then conducted at 2:00 P. M. on Thursday, March 14, 2013, with Rev. Martin Goode officiating. Interment will follow at the Dexter Cemetery.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Gary Lynn Campbell, son of the late Ira M. D. and Johnette Parks Campbell, was born in Gideon, Missouri on January 26, 1950, and passed away at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on March 9, 2012, at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 11 days.

Mr. Campbell had lived most of his life in Parma. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Parma. He had retired from the Noranda Aluminum Plant. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

On August 27, 1971, he was married to Jannis "Jan" Halterman in Parma, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2012.

Surviving are three daughters, Cindy Reynolds of Parma, Missouri, Becky Campbell of Scott City, Missouri, Sarah Trammell of Campbell, Missouri; six grandchildren, Austin & Nicholas Reynolds of Parma, Missouri, Harley, Bryleigh, Jarred and Michael, Jr. Trammell all of Campbell, Missouri; two brothers & wives, John & Marsha Campbell of Parma, Missouri, Ira Michael & Barbara Campbell of Sikeston, Missouri; three sisters & husbands, Sharon & Glen Medlin of New Madrid, Missouri, Karan Byrd of New Madrid, Missouri, Lisa & Tim Bartlett of Parma, Missouri. Other family and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, a niece, Angela Sue Byrd, and a nephew, Ira Martin "Marty" Bartlett.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 2:00 pm in the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Parma, Missouri.

Interment will be in Mounds Cemetery near New Madrid, Missouri with full Military Honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Parma in charge of arrangements.

R W "Dub" Conner, son of the late Eugene Wilson and Buena Oceola Conner, was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 15, 1923, and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Dexter on March 9, 2013, at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 22 days.

He had lived in Essex and Dexter all his life. He had worked for the Railroad, had spent ten years as a police officer in Kentucky and had his own saw sharpening business. He attended the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Essex. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of the D.A.V.

In September 1984, he was married to Ruth Marie Vickery in Essex. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2009.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Williamson and Linda Morgan both of Dexter, Missouri; six grandchildren, Arlyn, Kevin, Crystal, Timbo, Ashley & Keaton; ten great grandchildren, Marissa, Larissa, Madison, Colton, Jayden, Andrew, Austin, Jeanel, Brienna & Cora; one brother and one sister. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Terry Patterson; four brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2013, after 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.  Rev. James Hoyt of Poplar Bluff, Missouri will be officiating.
