Charles Jeff Smith, son of the late John Tyler Smith and Anna D. Mayberry Smith was born on August 17, 1916 in Leora, Missouri and departed this life on October 26, 2011 at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Emergency Room in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 95 years.
Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, Terminal Manager and Truck Driver for Hart Transportation in Dexter for 18 years, and a resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Robinson on June 28, 1941 in Kennett, Missouri. Mrs. Smith survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, survivors include two brothers, Halen Smith of Puxico, Missouri and John C. Smith of Garden City, Michigan; also by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Smith; three half-brothers, Willard Smith, Elzie Smith, and Herbie Smith; one sister, Aleen Heckler; and by one half-sister, Essie Barnes.

Interment will follow at the Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri.Fowler “Bob” Evans, son of the late Clabe Evans and Bessie Fowler Evans was born on October 1, 1920 in Randolph County, Arkansas and departed this life at his residence in Dexter on October 26, 2011 at the age of 91 years.
Mr. Evans was affiliated with the Dexter Church of Christ and a resident of Dexter.
Survivors include two brothers, Billy James Evans and Keifer Evans both of Dexter; by three sisters, Theda Nydegger of Stayton, Oregon, Wilma Thomasson of Mount Vernon, Oregon, and Wanda Norman of Pleasant View, Utah.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Essie Vinson and Madge Evans.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 9:30 until 11 a.m., Saturday October 29, 2011. Funeral services will then be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday October 29, 2011 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with Travis Quertermous officiating. Interment will follow at the Hickory Grove Cemetery near Morley, Missouri.
Della Vipperman, daughter of the late Isaac Samuel and Sylvia Silkwood Keck, was born in Wayne County, Missouri on September 21, 1910, and passed away at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri on October 25, 2011, at the age of 101 years, 1 month and 4 days.
She had lived in Michigan before moving to Dexter in 1977.
On December 22, 1962, she was married to Frederick E. Vipperman in Pontiac, Michigan. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1989.
Surviving are one son, Virgil Clubb of Alger, Michigan; one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Fouts.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 29, 2011, after 11:00 AM at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Charles William Corlew, son of the late William Chester "Bill" and Versie Helen Kimbrell Corlew, was born in Essex, Missouri on August 28, 1934, and died suddenly on October 25, 2011, at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 27 days.
He had lived in Essex, Missouri his entire life and was a member of the Olive Branch General Baptist Church in Essex where he had served as a deacon for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and telling jokes and stories. He spent as much time outdoors as the weather allowed. He was retired from working as a heat/air engineer.
He was married to Mary Matilda Litzler on June 29, 1952, in Dexter, Missouri. Mrs. Corlew still resides in Essex, Missouri. He is also survived by six children, Sandy K. McMullin and husband Glenn McMullin, Charlotte A. Stutts and husband Mark Stutts, Michael Joe Corlew, Rodney L. Corlew and wife Vickie Corlew, Mary Jan Wheeler, and Charles Ray Corlew and wife Lisa Corlew. In addition, Charles and Mary are survived by 12 grandchildren, Dana Baldwin, Katie Sells, Glenna Couch, Josh McMullin, Amy Asberry, Jay McMullin, David McMullin, Jessica Corlew, Lindsey Corlew, Justin Wheeler, Hollie Hughes and Hannah Gregory; and by 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Doyle Corlew of Dexter, Missouri; and one sister, Wanda Owens of Eldorado, Illinois. Other relatives and many friends also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Crutcher.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 27, 2011, from 5 until 8 p.m., at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2011, at 10 a.m., at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Brad Cox of Syracuse, Indiana, Rev. Dale McFarland of Sikeston and Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter officiating.

Mrs. Bess had lived in Bloomfield for many years and attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield.
She was first married to George Eldon Boswell in 1937. He preceded her in death in 1963. On December 24, 1968, she was married to Gerald M. Bess. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2007.
Surviving are one daughter, Connie Pixley of Bloomfield; three sons & wives, Carroll & Deann Boswell of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Eldon & Suzanne Boswell of Scott City, Tom & Shirley Boswell of Puxico; by one step son, Dennis Bess of Bloomfield, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; two brothers, Doyne Hunter of Centralia, Missouri, Clark Hunter of Eldon, Missouri; four sisters, Jeanette McLaughn of Bakersville, California, Billie Mae Hunt of Scottsdale, Arizona, Lanora Shrum of Cape Girardeau, and Josephine Dicknite of Centralia, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Joe Boswell and Jay Boswell, and two brothers, Ovid and Jerry Hunter.
