Crowley's Ridge Country Club to Host Trivia Night

Bloomfield, Missouri - Ken Kingree was loved by many in Bloomfield and the surrounding area. Ken loved being out in the public and entertaining family and friends.  This will be a great way to get together and have fun in his memory.

The Crowley Ridge Country Club will host a Trivia Night on Friday, March 9, 2018 in his memory.

First place prize is $200 and second place is $100.  

Tables of 8 with entry fee of $10 per person.  Mulligans will also be sold.  They will also have a 50/50 drawing.

Game time is 6:30 p.m., but come early to register.

No outside food will be allowed; however Pixley's Pub and Grill will serve food and have specials on their pizza menu and sampler menu.

Stoddard County Nutrition Center Chocolate Bake Sale

Dexter, Missouri- The Stoddard County Nutrition Center will have a Chocolate Bake Sale on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Ladies from the Church of Christ baked and donated all the goodies.  Proceeds will go to Meals on Wheels.

"Meals on Wheels costs on average $28,000 a month to provide meals to more than 270 people daily in Stoddard County," commented Waynetta Rodgers, Director of the Stoddard County Nutrition Center.  We have to supplement our federal funding by 30%."

"Fundraisers like this are essential and we hope to sell lots of chocolate on Tuesday!"

The Stoddard County Nutrition Center is located at 23 West Stoddard Street.

It is a way to make friendships that will last a lifetime and have a lot of fun! 4-H is the nation’s largest youth development organization. It grows confident young people who are empowered for life today and prepared for career tomorrow. 4-H programs provide thrilling and rewarding opportunities for youth to use their abilities to create experiences and explore their interests.

So why should you join?

+To help you improve goal-setting and decision-making skills.
+So you can become a school or community leader. (This also looks great on resumes!)
+Find how our government works.
+To build friendships and have lots of fun while learning by doing.
+To be able to attend state and national trips (such as 4-H Citizen Washington Focus or National 4-H Congress) 

Youth ages 5-18 with different interests take part in 4-H through school and community clubs, special interest groups, after-school programs, camps and other activities.

4-H is for everyone and dues are $20 a year to join (October-September).

Scholarships and vouchers are also available to help pay dues if needed!

Diabetes: Time to Move Into Action

Dexter, Missouri - Dr. Dodson Cravens, will provide a program open to anyone interested in learning about Diabetes, Nutrition, Weight Loss, and Exercise!

Cravens is the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services and Director of Diabetes Education Team at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.  The event is sponsored by Regional Healthcare Foundation in Dexter.

There will be an emphasis on Diabetes, but valuable information on weight loss and improving general health will also be provided.

The event is free and will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Regional Healthcare Foundation at Cox Corner located at 527 N. Walnut Street in Dexter.

Four $25 Walmart gift cards will be given away as door prizes.

If Dexter XI Schools are out for inclement weather, this program will be canceled or rescheduled.

Please join Dr. Cravens and learn about diabetes, nutrition, weight loss, and exercise!

U.S. Poly Enterprise Honors Retirees

Dexter, Missouri - U.S. Poly Enterprise located on the North Outer Road in Dexter, Missouri honored two of their own this week.  Linda Payton and Rose Chadwell will retire with a combined 47 plus years of service.

Rose Chadwell has worked at U.S. Poly for 26 years while Linda Payton has been an employee for 21 1/2 years.  Both will experience retirement this year!

Both celebrated with a gathering of employees, cake, and congratulations all around on their retirement.

Jerry Cooper, Owner, and Jason Mattison, Production Manager, were both on hand to help Chadwell and Payton celebrate.
