Bloomfield Trunk or Treat at the Courthouse Square

Bloomfield, MO - The Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce will host a Trunk or Treat at the Courthouse Square in downtown Bloomfield on Saturday, October 30th from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

This is a safe way to trick-or-treat and children will receive lots of great candy!

Bloomfield City Council Holds Special Session Meeting

Bloomfield, MO - The city of Bloomfield held their monthly council meeting in special session.  The meeting was held at 9:30 a.m. on May 13, 2021.

City Mayor Bill Aslin opened the meeting.  Donna Deardorff, Cecil Haley, and Pat Wilson were present.  Tim Clary was absent.

Mayor Aslin read aloud the letter from Smith & Co. stating that Causey Asphalt was the low bidder in the amount of $326,781.00, thus recommending the City move forward with the process of awarding the base bid to Causey Asphalt.

Ald. Haley moved to accept Smith & Co recommendation of awarding Causey Asphalt the bid.  Ald. Deardorff second.

Tim Clary – absent

Donna Deardorff – aye

Cecil Haley – aye

Pat Wilson - aye

Motion to adjourn was made by Ald. Deardorff and second by Ald. Wilson.  Motion pass 3-0.

TO: Bloomfield Businesses, School, Churches, Organizations and Citizens

FROM: Bill Aslin, Mayor of Bloomfield

SUBJECT: Covid-19 Virus Update

DATE: May 1, 2020

I want to give an update due to Governor Parsons and Stoddard County Officials recent Orders dealing with the Covid-19 Pandemic. The city council, city department heads and myself want to share the following decisions relating to City of Bloomfield:

• All Bloomfield City Offices will remain closed, entrance by appointment only

• Bloomfield City Library will remain closed until opening procedures can be work out with our Library Staff. We hope these procedures are in place where we can reopen our library on or before Monday, May 11th.

• Bloomfield City Park: All playground area, park pavilions and basketball courts will remain closed. The walking track, ball fields and tennis courts will reopen Monday, May 4th. All must practice social distancing remaining 6 feet apart.

• Businesses, Restaurants, Churches, and Organizations etc may reopen, however you must adhere to Governor Parsons Orders along with the Joint Orders of the Stoddard County Commission, Health Officer and Health Department. I am attaching the Stoddard County Order with this release.

If no spike in positive cases occur in our State/County we are anticipating additional reduction in various restrictions on or before June 1.

Continue all safety measures including personal hygiene along with social distancing of being minimally 6 ft. apart.

Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt/Heritage Days Event

8:30am: Color Run 5K

10:00am-4:00pm Heritage Days Event

12:00pm: Easter Egg Hunt

2:00pm: Miss/Mister Heritage Days Pageant.

Event has booked more than 25 vendors, businesses, organizations etc..already for this event.

Food vendors will include Tasty Sno Crabs, Willy Bills Fish/Bbq and Hamburgers/hotdogs by Spirit & Truth Worship Center of Bloomfield.

Live Music by Joyful Noise.

2020 Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet

Bloomfield, MO - The Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce will host their annual awards banquet on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the Assembly Church located at 20034 State Hwy E.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m.

The event will kick off with dinner catered by Patty Shell and the awards ceremony will immediately follow.

Awards this year will be Teacher of the Year, Business of the Year, Farmer of the Year, Department of Public Safety Personnel of the Year, Man of the Year and Woman of the Year.

The Bloomfield Chamber will also present a scholarship.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at GoSemo Fiber or Shelter Insurance in Bloomfield.  Cost is $20 per person.
