Bloomfield Golfers Finish First
Bloomfield, Missouri - Bloomfield, Kennett, Clearwater and one golfer form Senath Hornersvile played a 9 hole match at CRRC on Wednesday.

Bloomfield finished first with a team score of 181. Kennett was second with a 193, and Clearwater was third with a 207.

Andrew Northern of Bloomfield was the medalist with a 1 over round of 36.

Bloomfield Golf Team Having a Great Start to the Season
Bloomfield, Missouri - The Bloomfield Wildcats have started their season with a first place win.  Bloomfield, Doniphan, and Clearwater played a 9 hole match on Monday afternoon at the Canyon Club in Piedmont, Missouri.  It was a par 36 course.

Bloomfield finished first with a team score of 190.  Clearwater was second with a 221 score and Doniphan came in 3rd with a 224 score.

Andrew Northern of Bloomfield was the medalist with a 42.

Bloomfield Defeats Cooter in First Round of Districts

Bloomfield, Missouri – The #3 ranked Bloomfield Wildcats defeated the #6 seeded Cooter 60-32 in the boys Class 2, District 1 basketball tournament.

“Good effort defensively for us tonight,” commented Bloomfield head basketball coach Jason Karnes. “We knew Cooter had some guys who could really score the basketball and thought we did a good job checking shots and rebounding.“ 

Noah Vandiver paced the Wildcats with a game-high 14 points including one trey.  Austin Bond recorded 12 points and Tyler Battles finished with 11 points.  Nathan Newell hit one 3-pointer for Bloomfield.

Bloomfield scored in double digits in each of the four periods.  Cooter was held to single digits in the first three quarters.

“Offensively was a little sluggish early, but got some rhythm as we went along,” continued Karnes.

Bloomfield will face Bernie in the semifinal game on Thursday evening at 7:15 p.m.

 “We will face an excellent Bernie team on Thursday, and need a good day of preparation tomorrow to get ready to compete at a high level against them on Thursday,” stated Karnes.

Wildcats Win One on the Road in Holcomb

Holcomb, Missouri – The Wildcats traveled to Holcomb on Thursday night winning one on the road!  The Bloomfield boys basketball team defeated the Hornets 49-41.

Holcomb jumped out to a 16-14 lead at the end of the first period.  The Wildcats shut them down defensively only allowing 8 points in the second quarter while offensively they were able to score in double digits adding 15 points to the board.

“We have struggled playing on the road this year so it feels good to finally win one away from home,” commented Bloomfield coach Jason Karnes in a press release to the ShowMe Times.

Noah Vandiver recorded a team-high 20 points for Bloomfield including two 3-pointers.

Alex Gibbs tallied 12 points and Tyler Battles finished with 10 points for the Wildcats.

Nathan Newell hit one trey.

“We were able to grind out stops down the stretch and I hope we are starting to understand how important each possession and defensive stop is,” continued Karnes.  “Our next three games are all on the road and will be a good test for us as we head into the district.”

Chance Davis paced the Hornets with 11 points.   Skyler Johnson, Preston Sikes, and Ben Vance each contributed a trey for Holcomb.

Bloomfield (14-9) returns to action on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. at the Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff.  They take on Gideon.

Wildcats Take Down Eagles on Senior Night

Bloomfield, Missouri – The Bloomfield Wildcats defeated the Oran Eagles 60-47 on Tuesday.  It was Senior Night for the Wildcats!

“This is as good of a win as we have had all year,” commented Bloomfield head basketball coach Jason Karnes.  “Oran has really been playing well as of late, and coach Shoemaker does a great job with his teams.”

Bloomfield scored double digits in each of the four quarters.

Noah Vandiver paced the Wildcats with a game-high 23 points. 

Tyler Battles finished with 10 points.

Peyton Bell and Nathan Newell each contributed 8 points with Bell hitting the only 3-pointer for Bloomfield.

“It was one of our best efforts of the year defensively, and hopefully this will point us in the right direction and give us some momentum as we head into the final stretch of the regular season,” continued Karnes.

Jacob Priggel tallied a game-high 23 points as well before fouling out in the fourth period. 

Bloomfield (13-9) travels to Holcomb on Thursday.  Game time is 6:00 p.m.
