Bloomfield Defeats Cooter in First Round of Districts

Bloomfield, Missouri – The #3 ranked Bloomfield Wildcats defeated the #6 seeded Cooter 60-32 in the boys Class 2, District 1 basketball tournament.

“Good effort defensively for us tonight,” commented Bloomfield head basketball coach Jason Karnes. “We knew Cooter had some guys who could really score the basketball and thought we did a good job checking shots and rebounding.“

Noah Vandiver paced the Wildcats with a game-high 14 points including one trey.  Austin Bond recorded 12 points and Tyler Battles finished with 11 points.  Nathan Newell hit one 3-pointer for Bloomfield.

Bloomfield scored in double digits in each of the four periods.  Cooter was held to single digits in the first three quarters.

“Offensively was a little sluggish early, but got some rhythm as we went along,” continued Karnes.
