In Memory of Allen Lang
Allen Lang, son of the late Gustav Lang and Vernis South Lang was born on May 26, 1942 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and departed this life on January 3, 2019 at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff at the age of 76.

Mr. Lang was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.  During his service time, he was a helicopter crew chief and flew 350 missions and attained thirteen air medals. 

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age, he had attended the Bloomfield Assembly of God Church, First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield and was currently a member of the Battlefield Assembly of God Church. 

While a member at both churches in Bloomfield, he served in the Bus Ministry, making sure members got to and from church.  He founded the Bloomfield First Responders and was a member of the Bloomfield Fire Department as well.  He worked several years at Scisms Motor Company and had retired from Bud Shell Ford in Dexter in 2004.  He enjoyed painting, fishing and being outdoors.

On September 16, 1980 he was united in marriage to Victoria Ballard in Van Buren, Missouri.  Mrs. Lang survives him of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Keith and wife Donna Lang of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Mark and wife Sherry Lang of Dexter; by one daughter, Traci Childers and husband Steven of Success, Missouri; by one step-son, Tony and wife Glenda Martin of Dexter; by one step-daughter, Christy and husband Wade Quick of Springfield, Missouri; by two brothers, James Lang of High Ridge, Missouri and Lawrence Lang of House Springs, Missouri; by one sister, Rosa Lang of Bloomfield; by one sister-in-law, Helen Lang of Dexter; by ten grandchildren, Katelyn Lang, Sarah Lang, Brittany and husband Jacob Madigan, Leah Childers, Amber and husband Nathan Copeland, Steven Childers II, Daniel Quick, Hannah Quick, Samantha and husband Logan Crowley and Shannah Martin, and by three great-grandchildren, Sophie Madigan, Skyler Madigan and Ivie Spener.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Lang.  

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Richard Orrell officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full Military Honors.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
