
Marble Hill, Missouri - The Dexter Lady Cats Junior Varsity volleyball team has earned the number one seed in the 2017 SCAA (Stoddard County Activities Association) Varsity Volleyball Tournament slated to begin Monday, October 2, 2017.
The Junior Varsity seeds are as follows #2 Bloomfield JV, #3 Advance JV, #4 Bernie JV, #5 Woodland, and #6 Puxico JV. Richland and Bell City do not have junior varsity teams.
On Monday, October 2, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. #5 Woodland JV will play #6 Puxico JV in the Woodland Elementary Gym.

On Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Woodland Elementary Gym the Dexter JV 'Cats will play the Advance JV Lady Hornets.

Dexter, Missouri - The ShowMe TImes Spotlight shines on Dexter athlete MeKenzie Yount.
MeKenzie is #8 on the Dexter High School volleyball team and is the daughter of Melissa Yount and Michael Yount.
Her grandparents include Bonnie Luck and James Luck.
She is active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and attends First Baptist Church.
She enjoys playing volleyball and meeting new people.
Her plans after graduation are to go to college.
MeKenzie has participated in Net Threat Volleyball and badminton.

Sydney is a freshman on the Dexter High School volleyball team. Her number is 2.
She is the daughter of Chris and Amy Asberry.
Sydney is active in Pep Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Her plans after graduation are to continue her education at the college level.
Her hobbies include sports, going to the river, fishing, and hunting.
She also plays volleyball and softball outside of school on traveling teams.

Sydney is #16 on the Dexter High School volleyball team and is the daughter of Gerri Ann Simmons.
Her grandparents include Patti Marriott of Marthasville, Missouri, and Gary Simmons of Malden, Missouri.
She is active in Future Business Leaders of America, FCCLA, Student Council, and Fellowship of Christian athletes.
Outside of school, Sydney is active in FBC Performing Arts and golf.
Her interests include music, drawing, and hanging out with friends.
Her plans after graduation are to attend Logan University to become a chiropractor.
Sydney attends First Baptist Church.

Cape Girardeau, Missouri - The Lady Cats beat the Notre Dame Lady Bulldogs in the Class 1, District 1 District semifinal 5 - 4 and will play the Kennett Lady Indians in the District Championship on Wednesday.
"They played so good today. They really battled until the end," commented Dexter head tennis coach Jenni Rinehart. "Malia Cook and Abbie Dorton were the last ones on the court and they did a fabulous job of closing the match out. Morgan Aldridge had a very well played match with Grace also."
"All of the girls gave 110% today and it showed with the win," continued Rinehart. "We are headed to Kennett on Wednesday for the District Championship"
"Jadyn Northcutt and Rachel Singh talked to each other the entire time and that got them the win for doubles," stated Rinehart. "They know exactly where the other one is on the court and that makes for great teamwork."
"Nicole Sells had a hard match against Burdin. They went back and forth on points and she fought hard"
"Aldridge and Sells doubles match was really fun to watch. They played their hearts out!"
