ShowMe Times Fall Sports Spotlight - Sydney Asberry

Dexter, Missouri - The ShowMe Times Spotlight shines on Dexter athlete Sydney Asberry. 

Sydney is a freshman on the Dexter High School volleyball team.  Her number is 2.  

She is the daughter of Chris and Amy Asberry.

Sydney is active in Pep Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Her plans after graduation are to continue her education at the college level. 

Her hobbies include sports, going to the river, fishing, and hunting. 

She also plays volleyball and softball outside of school on traveling teams.

Dexter, Missouri - The ShowMe Times Spotlight shines on Dexter athlete Sydney Patrick.

Sydney is #16 on the Dexter High School volleyball team and is the daughter of Gerri Ann Simmons.

Her grandparents include Patti Marriott of Marthasville, Missouri, and Gary Simmons of Malden, Missouri. 

She is active in Future Business Leaders of America, FCCLA, Student Council, and Fellowship of Christian athletes. 

Outside of school, Sydney is active in FBC Performing Arts and golf. 

Her interests include music, drawing, and hanging out with friends. 

Her plans after graduation are to attend Logan University to become a chiropractor. 

Sydney attends First Baptist Church.

Dexter, Missouri - The 7th Annual Pigskin Pick'Em Football Challenge is well under way with results from Week #6 already posted.  Week #7 will feature 10 high school games, 7 college games and 8 NFL games.

Week #7 opens on Sunday, September 24th at 6 p.m..  Deadline for Week #7 is 6:00 p.m. Friday, Sept 29th.

Lady Cats Beat Notre Dame in District Semifinal

Cape Girardeau, Missouri - The Lady Cats beat the Notre Dame Lady Bulldogs in the Class 1, District 1 District semifinal 5 - 4 and will play the Kennett Lady Indians in the District Championship on Wednesday.

"They played so good today.  They really battled until the end," commented Dexter head tennis coach Jenni Rinehart.  "Malia Cook and Abbie Dorton were the last ones on the court and they did a fabulous job of closing the match out.  Morgan Aldridge had a very well played match with Grace also."

"All of the girls gave 110% today and it showed with the win," continued Rinehart.  "We are headed to Kennett on Wednesday for the District Championship"

"Jadyn Northcutt and Rachel Singh talked to each other the entire time and that got them the win for doubles," stated Rinehart.  "They know exactly where the other one is on the court and that makes for great teamwork."

"Nicole Sells had a hard match against Burdin.  They went back and forth on points and she fought hard"

"Aldridge and Sells doubles match was really fun to watch.  They played their hearts out!"

"These girls are playing outstanding right now!"

Wildcats Take Down Eagles in Volleyball
Oran, Missouri - The Bloomfield varsity Lady Wildcats volleyball team traveled to Oran on Monday, September 25, 2017 to earn another mark in the win column.  They defeated the Eagles 25-12, 25-11.  

The junior varsity Lady 'Cats also won 25-9, 25-17.

Bailey Below led with 5 aces, 11 kills, 3 kill blocks, and 3 digs.

Nicole Roper had 30 assists and 7 digs.

kaley Roper led in digs with 12 total.

Jewel Chism finished the game with 3 aces, 5 kills, and 11 digs.

Cayla Mayberry had 6 kills.

Bloomfield will host Advance on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 with the Hits for Hope Volleyball game.  JV take the court at 6 p.m.
