

Dexter, Missouri - Dexter High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is selling Krispy Kreme donuts. They are raising money to attend the Missouri State Conference in Springfield as well as the National Conference in Maryland.
Each student must sell 10 - 15 dozen depending on which conference they hope to attend.
They are also planning a education trip to Six Flags on October 7, 2017. Six Flags at Eureka Springs, Missouri gives behind the scenes tours to Future Business Leaders of America students.
The cost per dozen is $9.00. Orders will be taken until Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Delivery of donuts will begin on September 14th.

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter R-XII School Board met at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. Below are the minutes from that meeting.
Call to Order/Roll Call/Pledge The Board President announced the meeting to begin, ascertains the attendance status of all board members with everyone being present. He then led in the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Consent Agenda: The Consent Agenda was approved.
Approve Tax Rate: The Board approved the tax rate of $3.46 for the 2017-18 school year.
Public Comments: There were no public comments made.
Old Business:

New Business:
A. The board approved bus routes for the 2017-18 school year as presented by Mr. Gavin Miller.
B. The board approved the local compliance plan for special education as presented by Mrs. Amy James.
C. The board approve the district testing schedule as presented by Dr. Williams.
Discussion Items:
A. Mr. Counts discussed the success of the district student registration day that was held on July 31, 2017.
B. Dr. Williams discussed the district guest speaker for the back to school professional development. Annette Breau spoke to the staff for the second year.
C. Mr. Counts presented the Special Education Determination Category the district received from DESE. The special education department is rated 1-4 with 4 being the highest
and Dexter received all 4’s with an overall rating of 4. Mrs. James and all the special education staff should be commended for all their efforts to achieve this rating.
D. The building principals gave their reports to the board.
E. Mr. Counts reported to the board on the district's enrollment and how it will be monitored throughout the year. He also discussed a potential Alumni Association and a Dexter
School Hall of Fame
F. The September board meeting was set for Tuesday, September 26, 2017 due to the Stoddard County Fair Parade on September 19th.
